No thanks

Please could we have a reply we can just click on to tell people a polite no thanks when people send us a message such as No thanks heading

thanks for your recent mail but not interested in you at the moment good luck with your search.

We can just click this instead of having to type in no thanks and people getting back to you saying why not think this would be a great feature that all other sites have.

At the moment we see a plethora of threads asking why people cannot have the decency to say, "No thanks"

If, as you suggest, an auto responder is introduced, all we'll see then is another plethora of threads complaining about how lazy people are because they used the auto responder instead of typing something themselves

it takes two seconds to write No Thanks think its more personal than an automated click of No thanks

It takes even less to ignore the ones that you're not interested in, which in our case is 99% of inbound mail

sooooo if u have clearly an age limit on your profile, and u get messages from people outwith this do u still think u should send a no thanks? cos obviously they cant read anyway so they wont be able to read a no thanks.

Even if we were to have the option of a "No thank you" button, people would still ask why not?!

If I send a no thank you message and then get asked why not, I delete that one without replying. I for one am happy to send a no thank you if I receive a message from someone who is not for me....it takes seconds.

Sometimes you really do have to state the bleeding obvious!

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I think people who wish to have a default response should be able to have one without forcing those that don't to use it!

However, the first response is correct - people will whine about getting the default response.

So....what if every user could write their own default response? A free text field, the content of which is sent to every ticked message if a button on the Inbox page is clicked.

As a result, nobody would know whether they've got the default response or not (unless they've received it twice, in which case they're unlikely to come and complain - doing so highlights them ignoring it the first time).

I agree. I think a stock or personalised response option, which could work for 'no thanks' or a range of other response types would be a good improvement to the site. It's used on other sites: not competitive with Fab, and it does mean that you can make your messages somewhat more efficient. There are some who will choose not to send any reply, and that's their choice. This does not mean that there are others that do like to reply, and who could be assisted by such options. Sophie

Roll your eyes all you wish, but that's just the way it is for us - sorry if you disapprove, but it wouldn't do if we were all the same ....

You see this is just a little bit of fun for us, so we don't feel the need to reply to each and every post ...

And it isn't ill mannered to roll your eyes at someone elses post because you happen not to agree with it's content.?

Now you go creep around your graveyard till your little hearts are content, and we'll continue to ingnore as any inbound mails as we see fit.

Thank you !

but in a sense is it "manners"...

after all for example if someone hasn't read your ad and listened to want you want when writing, why should you give them the curtesy of a reply?

thats like saying you should reply to all your junk mail..... and i am sure that no one does that....

I am in agreement with redhot and a lot of other people in that if people can't take "deleted" as a reply or a response then i do wonder if they are really adult enough to be on a swinging site where rejection is probably the norm......

no we have sent lots of no thanks to many people and even stress on why a no thanks and all we have got is abusive messages back if its a site no thanks people will take more notice of it as like another person has said other sites have it we have used it on those and we don't get any abusive messages back so please consider it as all other sites do

I cannot see why a button with a no thank you message attached, rather than a personal no thank you reply would stop abuse, either way, we are declining their offer. I also get verbal from folk who do not like my polite no thank you reply, I just delete and block...but having never had the option, who can tell if it will work or not.

yes but the no thanks responder as it comes from the site is more efficent as people take more notice of it as its a site thing we send lots of no thanks or even stress on why its been a no thanks and get abused for having done so it would cut out all those people who send you abusive messages to you after you have sent them a message.

we totally agree we have clearly on our profile age limits area's and what were looking for and still get messaged just wished people could read all the profile before they contact people then there would be no need for no thanks as all the people that contacted you would be people that you maybe interested in
