"If you click on the forums, it then brings a menu to the left with all the forums in line, you can find what you want easier from there. They are set out very clear" As a long time usre i am aware of that its the people that dont know. I just think forums should be in order of use

"I think they're fine as they are. The fact that one social announcement didn't get the attention you'd have liked (despite being fully subscribed, as you previously said) isn't proof of fundamental errors in the forum setup. " Have you read the feedback on the forums from people who dont see things in forums. All i have suggested is that forums are listed in order of most used has with most listing on any web site I have been a member of Fab for over 4 years and have seen many changes. This was a suggestion. I have not said the site has any fundemental errors. Do you have anything of any use to add

"I apologise for coming across as antagonistic. I assumed that this thread was a follow on from a previous one of OP's around why their social announcement thread lacked responses. I should not have made that assumption. However, if that is the reason, then the UK forum (where the announcement in question was posted) would probably be dropped down the list of forums, below Meet Requests and Parties, and probably the Scotland one too. In fact, if the forums were ordered based on usage, then the Celtic ones would potentially interchange occasionally as a particularly heated debate moved Wales above Scotland (for example). This would be confusing for all users. " This is a seperste thread and has nothing do with the social (Fully subscribed or not). I was simply asking about putting forums in order of use. I know it would put meets higher up the list. This is the format for any web site you vist. The most accsesed information is top of the list. Take a look at how little use the stories forum has. I belived i was making a suggestion for a better layout and i seemed to have picked a fight. As you have read this and my previous thread you will see what other posters think. that is why i posted this. Not for my own personal gain as you appear to have put in your previous post. You should have a look at my profile and verifications before you judge me and my motives. It was nice for a mod to stick up for you, and if i came across as being rude i apolgise. I should have come across as being annoyed.

"Do you have anything of any use to add I believe that sentance is rude." I belive the posters following statment was rude...."The fact that one social announcement didn't get the attention you'd have liked (despite being fully subscribed, as you previously said) isn't proof of fundamental errors in the forum setup".

"My other forum post was for fab members This post is feedback from that post thats why i put it in the feedback forum that asks for suggestions As for popularity changes when has stories ever been more popular than the forums below it. Also is your responce personal or is it the responce of the site owners. I was simply putting forward a suggestion based on other members opions. To be honest i am not happy in the way the suggestion has been handeld" I think the wording on my post of " ( just my personal opinion )" explains whos opinion it is. I am not "handling" your suggestion, I am commenting on your suggestion. If you don't want anyone but Admin to comment on your suggestion then you may be better contacting them direct, as if you put it out on an open forum ANY member can answer. As this is the feedback section and not the lets all have a row because people are not agreeing with me section, I am going to leave you to it.

"people are agreeing with me " People might disagree too though! My initial post on here was tongue in cheek and I know where the forums are in the list and I'm used to moving my mouse an inch or so max down the left hand list to click on the forum I am after. But that is just my own opinion.

My original post was tongue in cheek because if Admin amended the list for the way everyone used the forums i.e. put it in order for everyones own preference then they would need to change it every second of every day. Not everyone reads the same forums that you do or I do! Again, just my own wee opinion!

" I think you will find if you look at the archives you will find that the most used forums are allways the same. So they wouldnt change every second of every day as you think. To make it more simple base the list on say the previous years activity. As for the sarcasim, read your own posts and see why i read them as sarcastic ie moving mouse an inch. Things are not allways read as they are said.

" I think you will find if you look at the archives you will find that the most used forums are allways the same. So they wouldnt change every second of every day as you think. " Please share your findings - how many posts are there in each sub-forum's archives? You could perhaps present the results in the sequence your proposal would deliver - making it easier for people to evaluate your suggestion.

The archives are there for anyone who is interestad to read. Lets face it you are one of the few people who dont think the forums need changing.

I do move my mouse about an inch so it still isn't sarcasm it's the truth! As for them changing every second of every day..... You asked me why I said my initial post was tongue in cheek; I explained why it was i.e. I wanted the Scottish Forums at the top of the list as that is the first one I look at when I log on, you will probably look at at a different one - yes? Joe Bloggs might again look at another one to both of us, I could go on and on an go through every member on here who looks at the forums and they will probably have their favourite one too! So in summary - That's what I meant by them having to change every second of every day to suit everyone's needs/ preference!

"The meets forum for us works well, from personal experience of organising regular socials word of mouth is the most effective way of getting the word out. We get more direct pm's from people who have "heard" about our socials than from people pm'ing us from the forums. The forums for us is more a place for us to direct people to who want info about our socials and a place for people who are going to communicate. The order of where the meets forum is placed is neither here or there. Kat" another thought is that we have a commercial forum for organisers of commercial events

I think it would be a good idea to base digs on facts instead of just been bitchy about some you very clearly know nothing about. Kat
