Whats the point of having it, yes if a member is abusive and you send proof to admin they can do the blocking, but why is when you personally block someone they have ways to still get to you by using partners or friends profile and also in the forum so whats the point of having a block button lol |

There's no way of stopping people 100%, if they're determined they will continue to do it. Block or change your profile, I wouldn't let them spoil your fun |

If anyone messages you on behalf of someone you've blocked, report them.
It's against site rules to use the forums to get round blocks. Admitted some men use the forums to 'compliment' a user which is just a little sad but anyone using the forum to have a dig after having being blocked should be reported |

I use it as a filtering system...If i take time to write a message as many request and then I find they have read it and just deleted....I send a standard message saying I'm disappointed that though they requested a personal message when sending etc etc they should at lease acknowledge it. I then say I'm blocking so they don't come up in my search at a later stage. I then put a note attached saying why I blocked them...A small reminder. I may unblock in months time or more. |

Seriously?
Why do the site rules, "no response is a no thank you" not apply to you? And why fill up inboxes with more messages for people to delete?
Please admin, ditch the sent box |

OK
But I would have blocked you after your 2nd snippy message so you wouldn't be able to unblock |

Clearly some don't like being blocked lol It my way of separating out those I do not/ should not message again. Also I unblock after about a month because I have found people change what they are looking for too and suddenly I may be inside their new search. So yes blocking us actually a good filter system...I'm sorry those of you who feel snubbed as a result...but then you snubbed first by not bothering to reply and try to interpret the 'no reply' a a RULE...It isn't it's a suggestion.
Also it's not a rule that you cannot reply a second message....its a suggestion and many interpret it as a rule....If it was a rule then fab would prevent it as with a second wink....Few are polite. If I get a reply back saying something like thanks for your message but I don't think you are what aim looking for then I say thank you...hope you find it x...and do not message again.
Indeed there's plenty of meat on the slab...I ve no illusions of that....but I'm not after those who are content with just any ol meat. It takes alot of sifting to find what you want as you well know.
And as for the block it's just another tool and people use it in different ways...as I said it actually helps by removing them from any future searches. If they block me then again I'm not worried because also the first coffee meet would have sorted out an compatability from a mind and attitude perspective....saved on two coffees and Danish. ..
I think all other filters should work both ways to as does the block filter...If blocked neither can view unless the the one who blocks unblocks. If I filter out an age group or say couples or men or single women to TVs then those outside of that shouldn't be able to view me either.....but fab I dont think would like that as it would reduce the interest of profile and pic googlers. |

The way you use the site is fine. You are using the features just the way you should. The thing that might be a bit off is that you message a woman who dared not to reply saying you are disappointed that she chose to use the site features the way she wanted to. Disappointed? I doubt any woman would feel that way about missing out on a meet with you after getting that message. In fact, I would block, and that would be that.
So, in short, we are using the site features the way we both want to. The only difference is that I don't lecture you before blocking. |

Been reading on numerous forum posts that more women are just block deleting most of their inbox without even reading a as they openly admit they've too many messages...chicken and egg. My original point above if you read carefully was to those who specifically request a carefully worded/interesting message. So if someone was to have...
1. Read their profile through ( unlike the junk mail message senders).
2. Spend time messaging something that isn't rude offensive and is relevant to who/what they are looking for.
Then a polite reply would be expected....but I'm finding there's little of that...hense the reply saying I'm blocking to save future popping up in search.
