Cant we have as part of the Gold Supporter package the option to leave our name in supps room while we go cook tea or have a bath. Sometimes it is so hard to get back onto chat it would be much easier if we could do that. Thanks Oh and if we cant can you please explain why we cannot |

Yes, user plane chat does sometimes crash and once it crashes it is a pain to get back in, sometimes taking 30 minutes. Not seen this happen for quite some time though.
But, when it does crash, it kicks everyone from every room so while your profile was sitting in supporters room it would still get kicked like everyone else.
As user plane chat is a 'bought in' feature, rather than the sites own programming then I doubt very much if admin could do much about the chat crashing.
Just my opinion

Steve, I think she was meaning the "time-out" function which kicks you out of the room if you have not chatted for the set period of time (I've forgot what the limit is - maybe 30 mins?) |

I personally can't understand why anyone would want to, surely if you can't get into chat when you come back after your tea it wouldn't be the end of the world until you can get in.
But, as userplane is stable most of the time, surely it isn't a problem? |

I know what she was meaning, the only time it takes an age to get back into chat though is after the chat has crashed, and that crash kicks everyone out anyway.

Have to disagree, sorry!
Seeing as I have been off over the holidays I have been in chat (userplane) more than normal and at times it has been really difficult to get into chat. When I have got in there have been lots of users in who have been in for ages i.e. not just back in for minutes.
So again, I disagree that it is only when everyone gets kicked out that it is difficult to get back in! But as Rugby has said it isn't a big problem I have other things to keep me amused. |

Awwww bb, but that's cos your out in the sticks and still have to put coal on the fire for your t'internet
Seriously though kitten, if all chatters, even if all supporters had the time out removed, loads would leave the profile sat in chat all day putting more strain on the servers and more bandwidth needed and increasing the costs of the service to Fabs.

Steve,
appreciate what you mean, but does the chat itself hog bandwidth? What about timing out only the cams, leaving the user in the room?
I was going to suggest timing out the outbound cam too, but it would be better not to, as some people like to put on a show, do nude ironing, etc. without interacting with chat. |
