Can we have a no thanks button.

We would love to see is a no thanks button. This could be used for winks friends invites or messages, the recipient if not interested could activate this & could notify the sender. They could then be prevented from contacting people again, this would be much more polite & user friendly than the block option which we've had to use for people with short memories (that includes us!) it also makes it less awkward than ignoring people or trying to compose a rejection message.

Admin I'm sure this would be welcomed by many & easily implemented, thanks also for the info re improving the way we do updates look forward to seeing the changes.

It's been asked several times before and the answer was no every time. It's available on other sites and lots moan about it being a cold response etc

I'm sure that the people receiving the automated "no thanks" message would find it just as impolite as a block and the "why was I blocked?" threads would be replaced by "why do i keep getting no thanks?" But I agree it would be useful if you hesitate to block.

The guys would want a 'why not' button.

another site i use has this feature, men just message you again anyway. block is the only way to stop them.

Yes but it would be a useful tool for those who have forgotten they'd contacted you before, so if they contacted you again & got no reply 2nd time they could hardly be surprised!!

They already get a big red warning notice above the type box, what more do they need to ignore

I just ignore them, then block if it happens every day.

A no thank you and automatic block would be helpful. I can never find anyone by searching because there are so many local men on here I have to scroll past,so I let men contact me.

You Dont Need to Know, right now

I wouldn't use a 'no thanks' button, for the same reasons that I don't send 'no thanks' replies. Firstly, it often triggers a 'why not?' message. Second, sending any kind of reply means that the person can contact you again, even if at some point you decide to use filters to limit the people who can contact you.

The FAQs say that it is NOT rude not to reply, so people should assume that no reply means 'no thanks'.

It's not about being too lazy to send a reply, it's about having a useful inbuilt tool which could help save time, (eg eliminating in a search or when looking at updates) people we've communicated with or don't fit our criteria, it could perhaps create a no thanks list or just notify us when we look at profiles, like it does for friends or people on our hotlist.

Could admin give us their input on this thanks.

Can you clarify something, are you suggesting a "no thanks" button for people who haven't contacted you at all?

If someone has previously contacted me, it shows when I look at their profile.

Sorry!! Yes a button for want of a better word(feature) that could be used in both instances, for our info when looking or contacting them & vice versa. Yes I know there's a notes section if you remember to use it, but that's more time consuming. What we are trying to do is maximise our time on here.

We looked at a profile recently & it said we mailed each other a year ago, we have no idea what was said, they weren't rude otherwise we'd have blocked them & it meant we couldn't look at their lovely photos again. There is nothing to stop us messaging again but we'd look stupid if they said no thanks first time around!!

Use your private note function, you can add any detail you want.

We do use notes when we remember yes it's a useful tool but a bit tedious when you might be in a rush. Lots of people we know would happily use a no thanks feature, & for those that don't like it nobody's forcing you to use it, bit like winks really. What's the harm in letting us try it out, the proof is in the pudding etc?

If I get a "no thanks" I wouldn't dream of questioning why but would retire gracefully, why put ones self in a position of looking a complete idiot?
