'Blocks' and 'not for me'

Is there any way we could have a 'not for me' buttton as well as a the BLOCK button?
When I look at a profile, the first thing I do is read the 'looking for' section. I then read the profile (and sometimes perv pics too!). In many cases after reading the profile I find that we don't match, and there is not much point in taking things further. Sometimes this happens after the first few emails exchanged.
In order not to view these profiles too often or send unecessary emails I use the BLOCK button to stay organised and not pester people. This is the only way I seem to be able to stay organised and ontop of contacts.
I feel really bad about this, as being blocked without apparent reason is not really that nice.
Could we have a 'not for me' button added so that we are all still viewable to each other?
I'd be much a happier with this, as it is a much politer way of registering incompatability, and has the added advantage of keeping profiles available if desires change.....
Just a thought! |

What is the max number of people you can have on a block list because I'm sure I must be close to it if there is one.
It's bloody single blokes that can't be arsed to read a profile, or chancers trying the scatter gun effect.
I'd welcome anything to stop this , even fire arms!! |

"If you're a site supporter, there's the private note option. You can add a note to someone's profile that's only visible to yourself. It's come in handy for us a few times. "
No one should have to do this, and as there are so many complaints about single blokes and blocking them you'd think someone in admin would do something about it. |

I seriously don't understand the thinking that blocking someone or being blocked is such a terrible personal slur. It's a tool the site provides in order to manage who can and cannot contact you... |

We block a lot and it is just a tool to use, the list manages itself as a lot of them go UNLOS when they realise their "so when can I fuck you" messages aren't quite having the desired effect |

Perhaps a facility to "Hide this profile from searches" would be helpful. Then we wouldn't keep re-reading unsuitable profiles over and over. The site-supporters' Private Note flags up that you have noted something about the profile, (which could be anything, but I use it simply to note that my approach was deleted or rejected); but you still have to open the profile to see that flag. (Maybe it could be shown externally against the profile with having to open it ?)
Whereas, a "Hide from searches" option would remove the user from visibility and we wouldn't have to open the profile to be reminded "did I try this one before ?".

"Use your filters and you do the searching x"
This is when they do the searching ....
I like the idea of an option to remove profiles from search lists & seeing a marker or the private note before you open the profile |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
"It's 100s but eventually the people you blocked do come off it and are able to message you again. Just gotta keep reblocking them."
Are you sure that isn't the UNLOS - rejoin loop?
Because I really don't think there's a limit. |

Agree with this and sadly yes you're right about 'when they bother searching'. Some people here are idiots and expect immediate sex when a message is sent. When rejection comes it's the end of the world...
Read somewhere the block list allows 500 blocks. Then first drops off as 501 is blocked etc etc.
I use the private notes option plus block. If there was a not for me button then I'd be all over it!!
