As I understand it, the Message Filters feature also applies to winks. So, for example, if I were to filter out messages from m/f couples it would also stop them winking.
I think it would be very useful to split out the filtering of winks into its own function, as it would provide users with a greater level of flexibility in controlling how they like to be contacted. For example, a user might decide they don't want messages from single males but is happy to receive winks, or indeed vice versa.

I can see why you would suggest this, but overall I imagine that if people don't want communication from a certain group of people then they probably [in general] wouldn't want to be winked either.
I do laugh though when people post a 'meet tonight' thing that asks for a certain group but have that group blocked from messaging... like the occasional couple who don't meet males but decide on inviting one or some for a 'one off', only to find no males can contact them.
Pros and cons I guess, like most things. |

They do that so that they don't get inundated with messages, very time consuming having to sift through say a 100 messages to find someone you both wouldn't object meeting |
