when you report other users for breaking the rules?
I'm beginning to wonder.
Following a no-show, profile was reported to admin, yet the only 'change' that has taken place since would appear to be that user has unfriended me.
I also notice that a user who I reported a year ago as a no-show, still has a live profile on the site - not that it's been accessed since failing to turn up for a meet.
Such behaviour is ruining the whole experience of this site for the majority |

I think I now understand why some users have taken to naming and shaming in statuses - though not a practice I intend to adopt.

For asking a perfectly reasonable question?
As someone who has been a site supporter throughout the two years I have been on fab, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect those responsible for running the site to provide me with an answer.
What is the point in requiring users to follow a defined procedure when that procedure fails to resolve the problem? |

Yes they do take action, but for a no-show, I would assume that they would only do something if several people had reported them for no shows, otherwise what would happen if someone decided to report you, just because they could. |

if youve been here 2 years you would already know that admin dont provide people with answers to their questions here . So someone failed to turn up , not sure what if anything you would expect the owners of this site to do , what your describing is an off site issue .I assume if enough people report the same person for the same issue , maybe then the profile gets looked at , if nothing happens after you report them , its safe to say you being stood up relates to you only .. |

I've been reporting a profile for weeks now for quite obviously being against the rules. No action is taken. I've contacted admin using the contact button twice, reported the profile numerous times. Nada.
Why bother when there's no consistency with rules |

have you not asked similar questions to this before? |

Unless you can prove that the profile is genuinely fake then admin aren't going to delete it purely on your say so. Even if they don't show up. What happens off this site has nothing to do with admin. |

Report plenty of profiles for having blatantly fake pics. Sometimes the profile has the pics removed and that's it.
To use fake pics in order to lure someone into a meet is pretty sinister in my mind. Whilst I don't suppose Fab have any responsibility when it comes to the actual meet it would be nice if firmer action such as a ban was taken.
Not sure how you could police a no show though as its your word against them at the end of the day. |

Put it this way, no-shows are an unfortunate part of this site, and I'm sure elsewhere too.
EG, what's to stop me complaining about you failing to show up for a meet with me, even if I never arranged to meet at all, so it would be your word against mine!
Admin could not intervene in such a matter, UNLESS presumably, they received evidence of a pattern of events of the same person affecting several others.
But in simpler terms, just because you have been inconvenienced personally, though annoying, it's not a Hanging Offence. Little can be done, so simply, move on! |

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.
Admin
PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:
--
Your feedback has been saved.
A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.
By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.****** |

As always, the above post confirms Admin do actually answer what happens with reports, of which mods have been copying and pasting it for you all for years.
