As a suggestion, wouldn't it be best if you removed the option to see if a message has been read, deleted or still unread?
It really doesn't appear to have any benefit and seems to cause a lot of angst from many who then go on to send abusive messages because someone hasn't replied to them.
When a thread is started about this subject, most people reply with 'stop looking at your sent messages and concentrate on your received messages'
So wouldn't it be best if your sent items are just that? Messages that you have sent and nothing more? |

I think this would be a good thing and like you say 'angst' would no longer be an issue about what does read message but not deleted mean?
Some do seem to concentrate on their sent items more than anything else |

"Just delete you sent messages straight away that's what I do "
But the thing is others don't....hence the 'angst' they haven't deleted are they interested or not? I admit I just do a bulk delete every few days..... |

"If the person has been online say for hour after my sent message i asdume not interested so i delete it and not bother the people again."
But you are in the minority as so many do not use the forums. |

"I like to know if it has been read or not. Then i know whether to expect a reply. I don't send abusive messages though. "
But if you never knew it had not been read then you wouldn't be bothered about it and you would move on .
Then it is a nice surprise when you come on to site to find a new message from one off the people you sent a message too. And that new message from them would make me think they wanted to engage in dialogue with you . |

"i like to know if my messages have been read and ignored. That's an end to them or still waiting to be read and we might get a reply.
"
Exactly!
Removing the feedback would only encourage the abusers to send multiple messages demanding replies.
The answer to any abusers is already available without messing up a perfectly good messaging system -Use the block button = no more abuse
If they're really out of order you can also report them ...... So already plenty of options |

Many people bulk delete if they have too many messages. Or have so many they don't read them all straight away. If I know its not been read for days then its probably cos they had too many messages and can send another in the future.
I think some guys expect a reply instantly so would send more abuse if they can't tell if its been read.
Its a feature thats there if you want it. |

"Personally anything that stops abusive mails too females on site to me is a good thing but i guess others differ. "
Abusive people will always be just that. Most will just ignore report and block. I'm in no way encouraging this behaviour and there is never an excuse to be rude but let these nobs be abusive thus showing the recipient just what they are like. |
