hi all just a question and wondered everyones opinion on this:
in chat if you block someone it stops you from seeing what they put in the room and from them watching your cam and audio but yet they can still see everything you write in the room.
surely if you have them blocked it is becasue you do not wish that peson to see what you are doing as well as saying so surely they should not be able to also see what you are writing?
in my opinion if you have people blocked for whatever reason this should work both ways that you shouldnt be able to see anything they say or do and they shouldnt be able to see anything you say or do???
whats everyone elses opinion ??? |

i totally agree with this, if iv blocked sum1 its for a reason (hardly ever blocks) but if i do, i dont want that person nosin my convos in chat still!!! think when sum1 is blocked, then u shudnt b able to view profile, cams or chat for sure!!!!! 
r they able to msg u still also? if so reckon that shud also b blocked!! |

think it should apply the other way round so the blocked cant read what you are typing because, you still have to be weary of what you are typing and saying to others ,its only natural that you are gonna fall out with people on this site, and it would make things more comfy again xxxxxxxx |

We're quite happy for chat blocks to work both ways on chat. If the majority are in favour, we will make it happen.
Please leave comments here and we'll make the change next week if there is demand.

i totally agree, a block button is there to BLOCK.....both ways works best as then there can be no more conflict in the room, they should not be able to see you hear you or contact you in any way, for all intense and purpose you and them should not exist to each other.......i thought that was what a block was for anyway....  |

totally agree - its the wrong way round at present and the blocked person shouldn't see your activity at all..
but you should be able to see what they are saying in case they say something that needs reporting to admin..  |

i agree dj but if theyre saying something that should be reported to admin mods are there to deal with that anyway and others should report it too if its abusive xxx |

Im in total agreement, seen peopel get blocked for good reason then the person that has been block makes nasty remarks and take the piss. Both shouldnt be able to see whats been said |

Ok we've made the change and all being well it will be live tomorrow (6th Nov) morning on new chat.
(The way blocks work in old chat will be unaffected, if you have blocked someone they can still see your writing; we can't change this)

yup! if iv blocked someone, i do not want them to see my conversations,my cam,or anything else for that matter.what i say to others is
that makes total sense to me too! i'd certainly appreciate that. no blocked person/s should be able to see who/what im sayin.

We can confirm that new chat now works as requested, i.e. blocks are two-ways, they can't see your chat (or cam) and you can't see their chat (or cam). The exception is chat mods who can still see your cam + chat even if you have them blocked (but you won't see theirs). This is so they can mod the room!

PS. Old chat still works the old way i.e. if you've blocked someone, they can still see your chat. We can't change this. |
