*'s only appear in the chat, not in the forums.
It would be nice to know in the forums who is a MOD.

Rugby,
Your correct, the reason I ask is:
Forum are there then suddenly gone!
Then out of sheer intervention "forum posts" are added in the middle - out of nowhere!
You along with a few other "MODS" have been always fair, but i'll retort back to my original question.
It's only fair that we as users are made aware of a MOD, there should be a "*" in the forums too!

In general, I think as site supporters, we are entitled to know that right!
That said, I'm a strong believer at times there is a requirement for silent enforces.
But there's also
"entrapment" - hence my initial post!
I'd appreciate a reply from sj here?

How does it enhance the forum experience?"

I agree i think forum mods should be known, i have been approached by 'unknown' forum mods before, who got VERY shitty when i said i would message admin to verifi they where indeed mods before doing what they requested.
It turned out that they where, but only by them proving they where by abusing there power! |

why do you need to know who the mod's are ... surely the question you should all ask yourselves is do you know/understand the forum rules?
if you do, and follow them then we all would not need MODs
unless you plan to transgress and then try to harass MODs by message |

I'd agree also.
I've posted a simple request, nothing out of the ordinary?
Still no reply from ADMIN.
I didn't start this to stir trouble.

I agree with Bippy, there should be a list of forum mods, or at least make it obvious who they are.
Recently there have been a few posts in the forums by one or two users that would, due to the way they are worded make a new user think they were wriiten by one of the modding team.

People are just being helpful I think Steve if they are pasted help and tips etc.
Most people know the two mods who are active which is us and Honeypotcouple by the way we shut threads now and then or post reminders.....the other forum mods are not that active on the forums, they only post now and then, so if you think a prolific poster is a mod, they are probably not |

I too would like a reply from admin when they get time, as the issue i had never got answered by them, which tbh i was miffed about at the time, and yes i fully understand they have alot on there hands but i think when it comes down to mods abusing power i think its a serious issue.
I would just like to say though rugby and HPC do a great job in the forums and i have no issues with them at all.

Forum Mod Totteridge/Whetstone |
We're open to publicising the list of forum mods, but we're not entirely sure it would be much help given that a) most people know it's HPC and rugby who are active and b) the forum software doesn't say who did what anyway (and probably won't).
We're an open door when it comes to feedback about the mods, just hit CONTACT link at bottom of any page... But as it says on there we can't respond individually to each request we get (much as we'd love to) because we get literally hundreds/day.

i have one criticism as an ex mod i know mods dont get timed out, but i never left my name in the room when i wasnt in front of the computer and to be honest its unfair, lots of rules get broken, we try and tell a mod, but name is there but they aint, shouldnt we all be time out mods and members alike, |

Timeouts are exactly the same for mods as anyone else in chat

I'd further like to add:
Both HPC and Rugby do a great job and this thread was in no way a slur at their commitment in keeping the Forums FAB!
The reason why I started this is because
Some people appear or give off the false sense that they are part of the modding team in the manner/tone of their posts.
as "SteveAndJ" rightly said:
"Recently there have been a few posts in the forums by one or two users that would, due to the way they are worded make a new user think they were wriiten by one of the modding team."
Sj_Mark, thanks for replying, I do still feel however a full list of the modding team be published it's easy to spot a MOD in the chat but not so easy in here!
Cheers,
Bippy

Sj_Mark,
You indicated in a previous post, you where adding more MODs to your team, even on this thread you replied stating that it was obvious who the forum MODs where.
Are you going to publish a full listing, New/Old/non active Site Moderators?
It's only fair, considering that people give the opinion, especially in the forums that they are part of your team, when in fact they are not!
Clarity goes a long way, helps establish respect and rapport.
My request was a simple one, that I hope will benefit the entire site.

No Rugby, to confirm that others give the impression they are!
I've no desire to become a MOD, nor from my existence in the forums would I be selected.
I assume nothing, nor can I answer fellow users perceptions of my posts.
I've sought clarity here, that's it.
I do however believe in openness and as a site supporter, re-iterate a "Full listing of Site MODs"
I'm aware your a Forum MOD and a damn good one too.

Like you said, your no longer a Mod!
I've always had the greatest respect for 'Rugby' as as Mod, proven ability to be impartial.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
Will this thread never die?
HPC + Rugby are the two mods posting regularly.
Knowing this doesn't help though. If you need to go running to a mod about a post, just report it, as the above ladies are not contracted to provide 24/7 coverage.

Forum Mod Totteridge/Whetstone |
We've chewed this over and really don't think it's helpful to provide a "full list" of forum mods. However, if we add a new forum mod, we will announce it on the forum.
HPC and Rugby are active. There are others but they're not active. We can forum mod but we pretty much leave it to the forum mods and don't get involved.
One of the reasons we don't want a "full list" is a) we honestly don't see that it will help and in fact may hinder because b) the way to report problem content on the forum is by the REPORT link in forum posts not by contacting mods direct. As discussed above if you think forum mods are out of line you should use CONTACT link at bottom of each page there's a way to give us feedback on mods.
Hope this helps

No sorry it dose not help, hows does contacting you about mods who are unknow help when..
A) You cant help at the time needed because your not around 24/7 nor should you be.
B) You are contacted but receive no reply, so your left in the dark, yes i understand you can not reply to every mail, but when it is asking a very specific question where the answer is only obtainable from you because no list of mods is anywhere on the site and on a very serious subject then yes i do expect a reply.
I find it very disturbing that a mod is allowed to act in the manner they did and get away with it.
It lets the site down, in a very big way.
a VERY pissed off kat!!

Steady on guys. The only contacts we can see from you are about changing your club details (which we went out of our way to do for you, in time for your social), and one about mods 10 months ago. Is this still related to that or is there another incident we're unaware of? Feel free to contact us privately.
Regardless, we don't see how having a full list of forum mods would have helped anyway (and see above for the active mods).

Hi all just a simple thought from little me... Mods can be seen with a star or not so why the reason of a list..wouldnt a list leave mod's open to abuse?

I know who the active mods are now but when I first joined I wasn't sure if Rugby and HPC were Mods or just lil bossy boots LOL as there was no indication they were mods.
My experience of forums over 20 years of using the internet has been that a Mod has a lil Mod badge/indicator next to their name or in their profile.
'Big up' to Rugga and HPC though I think they are both awesome and also very sexable.

No its the same issue, not a new one, but the way it was swept under the carpet and ignored as never sat well with me.
A full list of mods would have helped, because that was the whole issue, a mod contacting me asking me to do something in a very condesending and unpolite manner, i had never had any contact with them before, never seen them on the forums and never expected a mod to approach some one in the manner that they did. The fact that i then said i would do as they asked once i had heard back from admin because i wanted to verify who they where and if what they where saying was correct for them to only to get nasty in emails and freeze my account, any mod or member of the admin team would have seen that anyone can say they are admin/mod, as we have no list or indication on peoples profiles if they or not. The request to verify who they where was neither unreasonable or uncalled for.
in this case a list would have cleared up the matter straight away. |

Sj_Mark,
Thanks for replying.
Having perused the replies, it's very evident that a listing of MODs would be appropriate.
My original thread post was only to seek clarity.
Rugby and HPC are great MODs and their presence/capabilities here where never under scrutiny.
But once again, I request, like other sites do, publish a listing of MODs.
