Hi guys, I sent my fb some pics a while back and ticked auto remove after read. She told me she can still see them, even though she has read it already. I assumed auto-remove meant that once the message had been read it would automatically delete the photos off the message, not wait for me to retrospectively delete them. Any insight appreciated, cheers. |

From another thread:
If, from browsing your sent mail, you delete the pic using the link which says "remove photo from message", it does just that and the attachment is removed
If when you're attaching a photo and you tick the box that says "Remove photos from message shortly after it's read (improved privacy)" then system automatically removes the attachment once the message has been read (within 24hrs).

We'll make it clearer. You're not the only person to query this.
We didn't set to remove instantly because we figured that sometimes people would be running through their mails quickly and go back in and check. And/or want to show the pic to their partner (if a couple). So 24hrs seemed a reasonable compromise.
