Can i ask why the mods and admins don't drop every uploaded pic into google images before approving it? Just from the guys who have messaged me today i've reported a dozen fake pics. It's so quick to do and then this site would have a great reputation for being as "real" as it can be.

How on earth would they have the time to do that 24/7?

It is literally as quick as a second. When they log in to go thru uploaded pics, all they have to do is have a google image page open and drag and drop it in. Less than a second per pic.

Have to admit I've often wondered this too. Had a guy from USA mail me yesterday and his pictures, all fake, were. Months old.

Can Fab get photo mods just to check pics? I'd happily volunteer as I do it anyway on new profiles with public pics lol. I'm sure plenty would be glad to help run the site better

I like your idea, but I think this site is about self moderation too. The mods rely on sensible members to report these pics. I know I do it most days, I always check up on the suspicious looking pics.

Best if we all report suspicious photo's and let admin take a look.

Other reverse image search engines you may want to try. although some use Google.

TinEye plugin available which makes to easier to use.

Karma Decay exclusively for Reddit.

Baidu (chinese)

Yandex, (Russian)

I have moderated on a couple of sites like this and they all had us use google image to pick up the fakes. I am well aware of how long it takes to do and it takes no time at all.

Plus just as a user on here, i see the same stolen pics being uploaded week after week.

And if you think about it logically, using members to report stolen pics takes far, far longer than admins using google image at the point of upload. The admins have to read the reports sent by other users and then go use google image to check. By the time the admins have read the report, the fake guy has already got some persons phone number and a list of friends a mile long. Even then the profile isn't removed, just the pics. And 24 hours later they've uploaded more stolen pics.

It just seem like a waste of users and mods time.

O o O oo

Mods have the option of using Google images with how Admin have set it up.

Out of thousands of pics a day being approved there is bound to be some mistakes as it is humans checking them , so to help Admin keep the site real, it helps if you see any dodgy pics to report them so Admin can fix
