Hey there peoples... can someone explain to me why when you have asked for your profile to be hidden people can still access your pictures... I don't remember this being the case previously.

I see what you mean ( nice pictures btw)
Your private ones are still private. I would suggest you make them all private and let admin know its a blip |

I know my profile is hidden, but under the new construction of the profile pages, you can click on your public gallery pictures now on the left hand side and see them, even though the profile is hidden.
This hasn't always been the case and I wondered really why they have done it.

It was the same before the new page layouts started at the weekend too, so it isn't anything to do with the changes.
Whenever a profile was hidden before anyone (unless a block is in place)could still click on the link to see your public pictures (friends only being able to see private ones) and also people can still message you too.
The only thing they can't do when you hide your profile is see your profile text and details. |

This isn't new: It has been like this forever.
Hiding the profile hasn't ever hidden either of the galleries.
All it does is stop your profile showing in searches / online now and hide your profile text.
If people want us to hide gallery images too, we can make that happen

Don't think that's what happened. The op has a full profile with pictures and has obviously decided to go private for a while. Perhaps she's just not looking for now and doesn't want to be contacted but still wishes to use the site. Whatever.
Going private saves deleting everything. And I can only guess here that the op just assumed that going private meant everything was hidden from general view |

Hi, yes, this is quite what has happened. And as you can I thought it had been that way that the entire profile and pics became hidden, but, I stand corrected

I'd prefer my pictures to be hidden alongside my profile.
If I don't want people reading about me, I'm pretty sure I don't want them wanking over my pics. Assuming that anyone would want to that is!!! |

We agree entirely. We have recently hidden our profile for very valid reasons, assuming that pics would also be hidden. We were astounded to be sent a private message complimenting us on the pics!
What on earth is the point of hiding a profile, if pictures can still be seen? We are all aware that so many 'members' are just on here to look at others pics.
Please Admin, correct this as soon as possible. The current situation is ludicrous! |
