Chat/Directing Room

What do people think of splitting the general chat/directing room into different categories either on Regional/location lines or by interest groups etc?

I do try visiting occasionally but just cannot keep up with the flow of conversations or messages. Retaining the Directing room is fine but being able to move into a "North West England Room", for example, would make it much more helpful for people in the NW England to get together and chat/direct in a less high pressure environment...or am I just a disgruntled slow reader and typist?

We hear you. London has its own seperate as do wales and scotland, plus the ones over the other side of the pond. It may work or it may fail. Who knows. Good idea though as the majority of people who express an interest to meet on there are like 200+ miles away.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I meet people over 100 miles away, so would have to sit in 4 rooms at once, or troll around all 4 in rotation.

Isn't it just as easy, if you see someone you like, to check their profile to figure out whether the distance is manageable?

I imagine that many people would prefer to meet people who are 'local' and not 100/200+ miles away and so the opportunity to chat easily in a dedicated 'Regional Room' would enhance the likelihood of actually meeting once you've chatted. We can by all means keep scanning to see who comes into the chatroom but how many time have you read people ask..."anyone from Xxxtown want to chat?" I think there is a need for the Provinces to catch up with the Big Smoke and get our own rooms...just a thought.

if you want the quickest way of destroying the site...... do it via creating regional rooms, that is what happened on the other swinging website I used....

you ended up having for example yorks folk in one room, lancashire folk in another, midlands folk in another and north east people in another...

and you ended up having 4 rooms, 4 cliques, and they never ended up intergrating.... 4 sets of socials where no one would end up stepping foot outside of there teritory..... 4 sets of little groups of the same people to the same little circles.......

We have no interest in the chat rooms but the idea of a social for local people is most appealing. Some travel long distance, some don't.
