Sometimes it isn't about having anything to hide so much as not wanting to get spammed to hell with "gies a blowie" messages, or just needing a break. Maybe _iewing someone else's profile can give them the impetus to "decloak"  |

People usually hide it when they want to take a break from fab or have a stalker number of reasons to hide your profile. I usually do it when I'm away on holiday  |

People hide their profile for many reasons. They may be taking a break from meeting, may have issues with stalkers, may want to stop all the unwanted mail for a while etc. What should they do, delete their profile and leave the site?
There will be many people looking at your profile and you will no absolutely nothing about it as they are in stealth mode. looking at profiles means jack shit!
The site provides us with tools and we will use them as we see fit. If you don't like how a member utilises the site and it's tools then block them...... Another great tool provided |

My profile isn't hidden but people can't see if I look at them. Never used to but I got sick if getting messages from guys I wasn't interested in once I looked at them. Some even got pissed with me about looking and being rude for not messaging |

Possibly shouldn't be able to post in the forums too. I know of a couple of hidden profiles with ungenuine intentions. Unfortunately as anywhere some people use things for the wrong reasons and end up abusing any system in place  |

Admin have the facility for people to use for their own reasons. just because someone has a hidden profile doesn't mean it is malicious.
If you do suspect someone is being malicious, profile showing or not, then just report the profile. |

we hid ours for a few months this year, too many real life things were happening for us to enjoy swinging, real life things over so profile open again and swinging continues, when we took a break from it we saw no point in leaving our profile on _iew, nothing bogus or sinister |

My profile is hidden at the moment as I'm not interested in meeting, for my own reasons, this may or not change in the future, but feel its "false advertising" if I had it showing and would be deemed a time waster However, I like to post on the forum and chat to people I know from here. So why should I be stopped from posting in the forums?
Also, I have seen it time and time again that people hide their profile so they can search for people they are attracted to and can do so without being bombarded with hundreds of messages. What use would it be to stop them _iewing profiles? If they don't like you they move on so you don't need to look at their profile and if they do like you I'm sure they would show you their profile. |

I have my profile hidden sometimes when my hotlist is "full". I like posting on the forums if people have asked for advice etc. Then i will see their profile but they can't see mine. Doesn't mean i want to shag them. If it upsets you then block them. Simple x |

I have been hidden a few days and intend on hiding for a while, if thats ok with you
I say what I need to in the blue line top of page, people who are friends, have me blocked and hotlisted can see that paticular box and what im up to 
I have no need to show profile at the moment as I like the peace and quiet, dont need to prove I'm real as not looking at the moment.
I can use forums and read, have a perve about in peace, and chat to friends ive met |

I hide my profile when I get to over 600 unread messages - which is relatively often. It goes back online if and when I get time to get it down to a more manageable number! Xx |

It really don't bother me look away at my profile if you've hidden yours who cares I'm sure if I tickle your fantasy you'd message me or wink simples. It's a good idea really to block who's _iewed you, some poor woman might like the look of you but on reading your profile you turn out to be not what she wants you in return see that she / he has _iewed and then you start stalking so yeah it's a good idea. keep up the good work fab |

Yeah I agree, when I was looking sometimes the endless messages from people clearly not reading my profile would really get me down and I'd hide for a while. |

I've hidden mine for this reason. I'm really not in the mood for the messages at the money and too busy for meets so I decided to hide! I'm hoping to get my fab mojo back soon but not overly optimistic! |

ppl hide profiles for many reasons they fed up of stupid texts, i think most members should have the right to hide profile if they pay membership. Even mods are allowed to hide their profile its a choice we all have and a right i believe. |

Why is it such an issue? They're just looking. I'm quite nosey so even when I've hidden my proffice I've stuck around the forums and checked the odd profile out frim time to time.
Perhaps there could be an icon on the profile summary that shows in your looked at me bit or search results ro show the profile is hidden before its clicked on. |

you can't give veris to any profile that shares or is logged in from the same ip address, so, your suggestion that it's people doing it to verify themselves probably is unfounded

Things is as a woman you look at a male profile, you then get messages to say oh you looked you interested. Stealth mode has very good uses. |

Why would it bother you and how would you know anyway? Personally I hate looking at a profile, thinking I don't like it so won't message, then receiving a pm saying thanks for looking and thinking they're now a foot in! |

I had to hide mine ove the weekend because I had to many messages and too little time. I couldn't reply to messages asking me about potential mets if I couldn't see the sender's profile. If you're upset by someone looking block them. If they are on stealth mode you wouldn't know they looked anyway |

They aren't really hidden
I found a little programming glitch
If you few a hidden profile and they have gallery pictures lick on _iew gallery and you can still see them ;0) xx
Personally i have found if people are popular and leave for a bit they remove pictures and verifications and add simple line in text
Like. Be back ....etc
However with a profile like mine it would be a night mare to re activate all text or remove verifications ... So I just leave it ... But I don't get loads of crap mail so it's not a problem.... But if I did I'd hide it and not use site..
Many hide profiles in a translation period... Ie met someone or adding a couples account or had a bad experience ... And reactivate when back on form .....
But I do agree if a profile is hidden it should have limited access.... And then If you wanted full access just remove all offending pictures and text and verifications... It would still show a genuine (hopefully) account .. Ie male female age location etc etc ..

Blimey! I get messages telling me to hide my profile if I'm not meeting......some quite aggressive ones as well, how dare I be on the site and not acquiesce to every invitation to fuck??
I don't hide it because I post on forums and go in chat rooms and feel that people should be able to see who I am when I post |

Mine is hidden cos l met someone on site ..so not interested in meeting anyone else for now...problem is l have lost all the beautiful conversations we shared at the beginning of the assocciation and want to know how you can get them back |

Hiding your profile doesnt delete any messages so unless you have deleted them then they are still there in your inbox/sent messages - unless they are very old messages which sometimes get dumped automatically to make space on the site.
If you have deleted them then there is no way to retrieve them. |
