before the site was taken over you used to be able to put html code in your profile so you could insert vids and pics remotely hosted.I believe they stopped this for site safety.
Its a shame they took this away as i used to have my profile encoded in flash and it looked bloody good |

you can always upload your videos to a site then pass the link onto who ever you want to see it over msn or e.mail.. think if videos where to be posted it would just clog the site or slow it down big time, as the old saying go's if its not broke dont fix it |

Videos as a file being hosted wouldnt slow down a site, if everyone started to watch videos all the same time it would use bandwidth which could be a charge by the isp to the site owner, but in this day and age the ISP would be capable to cope with the usage without slowing a site.
It would be a great idea to have videos on your profile, plus who'd want to go round emailing links? imagine if you had to do that with your pix when you posted them, who would you email anyway, the thrill is to have new people look at them and maybe comment back.
I think if the site doesnt want to host the videos i dont see any harm with them vetting a fileshare site e.g. megaupload and we just post the url, that way your videos could be private to the rest of the web. |
