The right place

Sometimes it would be nice to leave a comment against certain pictures. Or at least a private message tagged to a particular one.

Anyone else agree?

I think that would be good.

Great idea!! although I do get a lot of private messages about my pics - it would help to keep my inbox cleared if comments could be made on pics.

More like a can of worms for admin. It would be great if people could be trusted to only ever leave nice comments, but unlikely that would happen really.

I had only considered leaving positive/constructive comments. But I guess like all things it could be open to abuse. But even that would be a quick way to out / block the losers.

I'll either fab them or send a little message, I'd rather not have the facility to comment on a picture, too many people on here that would be spiteful

Maybe the comments could be similar to verifications in that you choose which to show?

had a couple look at our pics today, but because of restictions they have set we can not ask them what they thought of them. Seems wrong somehow

Why does it? If they thought your pics were something they wanted to discuss with you, they would have sent you a message.

Another site does this. People are a lot more selective about the photos they upload. I think it's a good idea.

This has been discussed before and the comments as someone already said would be more like Facebook which loads said. Also you'd have to decide if there should be a filter on them like the age one or not allow certain groups. Think it sounds too much work involved to be honest, if someone likes a particular photo then they can send a message or just fab the photo

If this were to be added I'd want the option to opt out... I'm sure 99% of comments would be positive, but I wouldn't want to risk being the brunt of the abusive ones as I can already guess the tone they would take

Always nice to receive comments surely. Spiteful ones can be deleted by the folks showing their pics.

Send a message saying 'Nice pics' !

Since this seems to happen a lot already - why the need for comments? I suspect for many it would simply be used to get round message filters.

And as has been said - do you really want the hassle of sifting through and deleting comments such as "Your pics are shit", "Looks like a cock only smaller" and "Do your tits drag on the ground as you walk?" Simply because you deleted a message or deleted/declined a 'fancy a fuck?' message?

There are always going to be some people who have a non positive comment about a photo, so block the user. If you like a photo you cannot always send a message to the user because of the profile filters. You can see where some photos could be improved, and a suggestion may help. Eg. up light instead of side light. Other tios could be try a higher iso and lower shutter speed. Maybe even use a tripod cos it is so blurred I went to get my eyes tested again. Yes it is open to miss use but at the end of the day everything is and we are adults. It is like people who write spiteful comments in forums that have nothing what so ever to do with the thread. It would be nice to have the opportunity to try this. If it turns out to be a shit slinging match take the function away.

The majority won't be dishing out 'Lighting advice' - they'll be circumventing filters put in place to determine who can/can't contact you.

It already happens with the 'fab a pic' system. Can't message/wink/friend request? Fab all their pics in the hope they contact you.

Many years ago you used to be able to add comments to your own pics. That facility was removed. Giving others the chance to do so would benefit few and give the majority the chance to abuse the system.

And people really won't be interested in technical photo critiques - few enough bother trying to edit, frame and decently light a picture. They're seen by the majority as simply a means of attracting interest so messages can commence and meets occur. Little more.

Presumably the expectations are representative of the demographic.

But why should I have to leave my pics open to nasty comments that can be seen by all and sundry? Private messages are bad enough, but a nasty comment sat against my pics for others to snicker at until the next time I log on I would find humiliating, hence me wanting the option to opt out should this become a feature.

Also the reason people put filters on is because they don't want to be contacted by people out of those filters, whether that be to meet or for photography advice/praise!

Having read the comments I suspect it is probably best that we can't add comments but mainly for what I think a genuinely sad and disappointing reasons.

I would like to have more faith in people but perhaps I'm being naive.

I try to live by the adage 'if you don't have something nice to say, it's better to keep quiet' but I appreciate that not all others do.

Having said that I have so far only encountered charming people here.
