When you block someone, is it possible to connect the block with the forums to prevent their posts appearing when you brows the forums.
I know this is possible with most forum software, including simple machines and shouldnt be too much of a task to implement here.

Last time someone asked this the reason was because it would make the forum appear disjointed if chunks of a conversation were missing.
Have to say its a bit like that on Facebook it can appear that people are talking to themselves. |

Guess the answer must be to stop using the forums if you want to completely block someone.

The disjointed thread would spoil it for everyone and therefore it's not an egalitarian option .
Your issue may be a very personal one , and if the blocked person isn't abusive on the forum or out to further create issues , it shouldn't be a problem .
A bit like a vegetarian shopping in a supermarket . The supermarket wouldn't hide the meat , and the vegetarian chooses to shop there and ignore the meat .
If it really is as bad as you feel it is , perhaps the forums are not the best place for you ? |

Isn't that when people have asked that when they delete profile anything they have posted on the forums goes as well?
Surely if it did work if when blocked you couldn't see forum post it would mean just the person you have blocked posts so anyone who hadn't blocked them would still be able to read it it won't have gone |

Yeah it was said for that too but imagine if I blocked you and then you were reading the Kent social threads for example and couldn't see any of my posts/threads would be weird eh? |

"Funny how face book manages "
They do it but it makes people's status updates etc make no sense. A status update with 10 comments underneath all from the person who's profile it is none of which make any sense because the person they are talking to is invisible. |

as long as it makes sense to them, I can't see a problem...
another literary site I belong to has that facility and it works very well |

I would much rather that than have the weirdo stalkers comment on every thing I say |

"Do people really hate some people so much that they can't bear to see their words on a screen?
"
Youre assuming an awful lot. Hate?
How can anyone hate somebody they only know exist from a few posts on a message board? I'm not sure Ive ever hated anyone in my life!
"How do you cope with people you don't like in real life?
"
This is part of "real life" isnt it?
Like everybody else. I tend avoid them whenever possible( A sort of real time block) but thankfully I dont have the little munchkins pushing notes through my letterbox |
