Suggestion for new mods.

When it's time for new mods to be introduced, is there a way us as members could vote to select the new mods for the chat rooms?
I think this would be a good idea as then the people that use the rooms would be able to best guess who would be good at modding in each individual regional room.
The problem with random mods is they come in a room, see a comment and ban without even knowing the conversation in question.
We'd like mods to be more regional so they get to know the room users.
Just a suggestion that i thought i might put out there. |

Actually I did try this.
But never heard anything.
Another suggestion would be if we could have new mods that do actually spend time on the site. Instead of an hour or 2 here and there. Yes people have lives but there is alot of us that spend quiet alot of time here.

We'd be more than happy to mod the mids room.
We are here daily, most of the day sometimes.
And on quiet alot at night too. Most of the time we are here till gone 3am.
I do help run a car forum but could happily help out here as well.
It seems good ideas fall on deaf ears though. Unfortunately. |

What angers me are mods sitting in directing rooms whilst people in regional room are having to put up with directors and spammers, surely directing rooms don't require a mod, as those rooms are set up for directing. |

Can't argue with that. We need mods in regional rooms more often.

Ok please keep this to feedback for Admin.
If you have an issue with a specific mod you need to send that to Admin themselves from the CONTACT button instead of on the forum. |

Lots of mods only chat in the directing rooms, that's where their friends are. That's why the regional rooms need their own Mods, who know the regulars and their sense of humours etc.
Plus, it almost impossible to find a Mod when you need one !! |

I haven't mentioned anyone but I've complained numerous times, and personally I don't feel admin deal with the issue as same things are still happening.
And as this is site feedback, I feel I'm commenting in the right place, maybe if admin fed back now and again that would help |

Yes lets keep this to a discussion not a an argument.
I think we have a valid point though that us as users would probably be better at picking suitable mods for each regional room.
I mean it is us after all that spends the time in the regional rooms.
And i do agree we need mods that know the users for each individual regional better than they do now. |

This is the site feedback forum, so this must be the best place to post the feedback.
There has to be a better way to Mod the regional rooms, they are practically un moderated at the moment and when a mod does pop in, sometime the wrong ones are banned simply because that haven't been following the conversation, or they don't know the persons personality who maybe makes jokes that Mods might feel are offensive, but others laugh at |

Ok fair enough rugby, but a post was removed for someone saying two people that use room could be mods, that's not breaking rules. I didn't see any naming any mods, maybe I missed them, but unfair to remove posts that don't break rules |

When you contact admin, you don't really get any feedback at all, a standard reply at best. I think this is why, many are feeling that Admin no longer care.
Some genuine feedback on issues that are affecting many, really is needed. I know Admin are busy and gets hundreds of contact forms a day, but sometimes a response is needed if nothing else, to show they are doing something. |

surely paying site supporter should say something, without all the £5 people pay, this site (which is a business for site owners after all) would go under, acting on customers complaints or responding at very least would show something being done |

We do need more mods and I realise they need training but the people who 'police' the regional rooms wouldn't need that much. We often get abuse for our efforts as well.
I have offered to be a mod but appear to have had a 'standard' response from Admin. Thanks but no thanks.... |

to suggest that mods are voted in is ridiculous and could only lead to cliques and disruption , to prove the point may I remind you all of the farcical situation in one of the rooms recently !
a mod should be independent and should in no way be swayed .

I'm not saying a mod should be swayed at all.
I'm saying the mods should know the users of the room.
In my opinion that already happens as it is. I for one have reported it on many of occasions.
I go back to my post above earlier.
I mod a car forum, We as mods have rules to follow.
We follow them to a tea. It's what makes our forum. No one is special or above the rules.
But sometimes it seems that way here.
The regional rooms are going downhill whether admin want to admit it or not.
I'm here most days and the amount of regulars that won't come in because of directors is ridiculous.
Something needs to be done! |

I totally agree.
I used to use the regional chat rooms on a daily basis but only go in there occasionally now. Partly due to real life getting in the way and partly due to everything that has been mentioned above |

Agreed, I know the mods are doing there best.
I'd just like to see change and some sort of structure.
You can generally know when the need for mods are.
7-10 am is on where alot of directing gets done but very rare a mod is around.
12-1pm is again another time, as is between 3 and 4 pm.
And also late at night it is very rare to see any mods on the site at all.
The other week late at night there was a lady on cam with her child running around in the background. Yes it was reported but nothing was done about it.
Surely there is a better way of organising mods. |

Can there not be a timetable for mods to be on, so the site is covered 24/7.
At this time of night it's rife with directing.
Alot of people are coming on less now as the directors seem to be taking over and nothing is done about it.
Just like mods leaving a room whilst the directors are out in force.
Something needs doing! |

I remember why this site was started in the first place, because a curtain other site, got too interested in making money and less interested in their customers concerns.
Fab is now starting to go the same way, and they need to stop the rot before the same happens and someone offers an alterative.
There has to be a better way of coving the regional rooms, how, im not sure but I do believe the mods should like a site I run have mod accounts, they shouldn't be on cam, playing etc and have mod powers, as this can distract or in fact be an abuse.
When modding, they log into mod accounts, when camming, they use their own accounts. |

This would also stop people slagging off mods, because if logged on as a mod, all it will show is moderator, no name etc, of course admin can tell who has been moderating and which mod kick who etc.
Clearly as a reward for moderating, a free gold membership could be given for their personal accounts, and so long as they have put X amount of hours on moderating they keep gold. |
