New Message System

Really hoping that a new message system is being considered/worked on, as I think the current system is long overdue a re-design.
What i'd love to see is all messages from same person grouped into one thread, showing all messages from that person regardless of subject.

Message me is similar to whats app, but you don't NEED to use your mobile number, just a username.
Also you can use it on more that one device, ie my iPhone and my iPad |

It helps but its extremely annoying having to delete messages all the time. Even a small conversation can create hundreds of messages. |

Plus the ability to see messages from just friends and unread messages too as sometimes mailbox only shows the last hour if we've been chatting to a few folk

With the amount of paid members it shouldn't be an issue of funds, nothing worse than someone messaging who's not messaged in ages and you can't remember a thing you spoke about previously or shared private pics

Also to be able to see pictures sent on the thread. I'm not sure if it's because I'm on my phone but on the current thread for site supporters previously sent pictures don't show, meaning I have to exit the message and search through my sent box to find them. |

Thank you so very much for the feedback, I'm sure I can say on behalf of loads of users that it is very much anticipated. And If you do get a beta version put together and it needs bug reporting I'm more than happy to help

We'd like to see this too. Perhaps with an option of folders? We like to keep some of the pics we are sent I.e. Face pics so we can remember what people look like!  |

Icq chat has a system that allows you to jump into private chat when in their chat rooms and allows you to simultaneously chat with icq users and do other tasks or work. this appears as a small box in the corner and it's instant but it deletes conversations when you exit for fab we now use kik it's free doesn't use numbers and it saves your conversation, there must be companies with off the shelf packages fab could just bolt on to the site to quickly improve messaging |

Seem to have come across a bug we think when we use our laptop at home,we keep getting logged out every 5 mins or so for no reason?
Anybody else encountering this issue? |

Same here.
We have more than one paid account on here and we are now looking for find a different site because of the poor message facilities on Fab.
We have unread messages that we can't even read because of the size of the mailbox!
We were at Kestrel's on Wednesday and everyone in the hot tub had the same issues and were also fed up.

We use 'MessageMe' for most chatting now, as fab is rubbish. MessageMe allows you to use it on more than one device and no mobile number.
But thats a different subject......
Please hurry with new message system it gets very complicated when someone messages you after messaging them ages ago, when you look at there profile it says you messaged them "x weeks ago" but cant remember what was said. |

I would like this too...but also the new messages to appear at the bottom of the page not the top, so when clearing them I don't need to keep scrolling past the ones I haven't yet read Haha. I guess its easier when you are not on a mobile  |

We don't want to be rude, but is the admin even still here? We have been a member for a long time (possibly years) and the improvements over the last 6-12 months have been tweaks, we really hope it's because they are rewriting the whole site or something. We know it's only £5 a month / 60 days but come on! At least a comment on this thread would be nice. |

I genuinely hope admin don't re-write the whole site elements of it yes but not the whole thing. Its a great and clean user interface which is really easy to navigate. I think it also makes it less intimidating for newbies of the site when it comes to getting to grips with all the features....
As already mentioned if the message system could be updated it would make life easier and keep the inbox tidy, I'm sure the cost of server space can't be an issue these days with the amount of members we have in this ever growing fab community.
I guess we will have to sit tight and watch this space. |
