I imagine there are several reasons,
Defamatory.
Illegal.
nasty.
a personal attack.
plus many more, If you read the rules they cover most reasons.
It is a fun site for fun, and shouldn't be taken seriously. |

"Dont you wonder why they remove them? I alwais do lol ."
Details provided in the forum rules when you post..
Threads we remove
Threads containing racism, threats, nasty stuff like that will be removed and the posters banned or given timeouts. We also don't want discussions of serious illegal subjects like rape, child abuse, illegal drugs because inevitably someone will post about their own crimes / experiences of crimes and we can get hauled up in court to provide evidence. We do this for fun and we don't want the hassle, sorry.

North of The Wall - youll need your vest |
Someone can remove their own post just for a couple of minutes after theyve posted it. Then they cant remove it.
Forum moderators and Admin can remove posts at any time.
If you meant why do some people remove their own posts it can be for all sort of reasons - they often do it if theyve made a mistake in the typing, or more commonly because theyve had second thoughts about what they have just said |

I like that you can't delete a post. Means that when people post something and the thread doesn't go to their liking they don't have the get out of jail free card |

"An edit post facility which is available for the same few minutes as the delete post function would be good though."
Or edit in general. Fail enough can't delete but surely it makes sense if someone said something they regret an hour later or realise they were wrong why leave it for all to see and judge/argue/insult over when person can edit/delete own post removing potential argument rather than leave it,someone takes wrong way says about it and ends up big argument. Does that benefit anyone? |

Dont post anything you dont want to edit later.. but very easy to just report your post and give your reason and ask for it to be deleted. |

I'd like to be able to edit for a few minutes so I can correct mistakes, usually spelling ones (the auto-carrot on my phone recently turn defecation into defection) not to change the substance and meaning of what I have posted. |

Makes extra work for admin and takes too long where as if can delete own post makes it easier |

People should have the courage of their convictions. Or at the very least enoughcommon sense to not post Iinflammatory or offensive crap. |

Often it's peoples reactions causes arguments as opposed to what was actually said |

You can preview any post before actually posting it , that's when I read it through to make sure it all makes sense and more to the point make sure I've got the right smilie at the end |

I love the word auto carrot - I've only heard it since I moved further North but I use it a lot - it fits!
But I do agree about the facility to edit - it would be good although I can also see a downside to it - someone posts an inflammatory remark - gets jumped on for various reasons and then amends it so that the comments below look as though the retorts were out of sync. |

Preview your post before you post it. Thats why it's there.

Deleting posts yourself would be a good thing, especially for those posting parties/club events, once events past they can be deleted this saving server space |
