Why do admin feel the need to close threads that are not breaking any rules of the site? Seen more than one where this has happened for no apparent reason.
Little bit like thought control as can only think that the admin guy or gal may not like the topic or scared which way it could go. Also frustrating when it's apparent the query or story hasn't run it's course! |

Threads are never closed 'for no reason'. There are very clear instructions from the Site Owners about which threads to close or delete, and these are what we follow.
On personal note I think the idea of 'thought control' or being 'scared' by threads is a bit odd to be honest, but I do quite like the idea of being able to close threads just because I didnt like them. If only....

Just because you think it hasn't broken any rules doesn't make it so. Perhaps you missed a really inappropriate comment, they can come thick and fast on some threads. The mods generally do a damn fine job of keeping everyone under control, sometimes just deleting the odd comment and sometimes shutting the whole thread down. |

" well said even more so as they give their time up.

Sometimes they close them because there are several running at the same time like the sad news of the death of Nelson Mandela. Or someone has posted the same post on every forum which they have done in the past, 10 I think was the record |
