We'll be defaulting search on the desktop website to be the advanced search page, from tomorrow. We'll be renaming the page simply "Search".
Old basic search will still be available by a link

I much preferred the simple search option as default with the option of advanced.
From a usability point of view, and GUI standards I would place the search button at the bottom of the page not hidden amongst options in the middle of the page
Industry standard is to have the user interaction at the bottom assuming the user would have read everything from top to bottom and be ready to submit their preferences with out having to scroll back up
The counter argument is that people who have read from top to bottom would know that the search button is in the middle lol
Anyway I still think the search button would work best at the bottom of the page |

Its still there in the old version but I would guess that going at some point in time."
There's a link on the left hand browser menu to do a username search
