when I was a single on here I got so many messages but when they hit a certain point I lost them until I had deleted so many x having page numbers like you do on an email would be a massive benefit x now as a couple when we mail a female sometimes our mail gets lost if they not been on for a few days and we are never sure if they have seen it or not and feel rude mailing again x think this would really help x |

Personally I think you'd want/need to be able to categorize mails as in the following, and it should be automatic.
Mails from Friends
Mails from Hotlist members
Conversations (messages with at least one reply)
Mails from previous chat members (not friends but whom you may have corresponded before)
Everything else
