We had a glitch with one of our servers this morning which means the site was offline from around 04:30 to 07:56. Service is now fully restored.
The problem was related to one of the overnight backup processes and we'll be working a) to make sure it doesn't happen again, b) if it does that it doesn't take the site offline for so long.
Everyone who is a site supporter will be getting a further 5 hours added to their pass later on today, to make up for the problems.

We've added 24hrs to every site supporter pass. 5 hours was stingey. This is our cockup and we're determined when stuff like this happens we make good and make sure it doesn't happen again.

So the site supporters are well looked after but what about us tightwads ??
I need to claim for emotional damage and the harsh realisation of site addiction .... Think I was trying to log on about 7 a.m and was mortified! Rebooted twice and then did something more sensible but far less fun !!
No more pls ... couldn't take withdrawal.  |

Well I think you are very generous, especially as we were snoring on our heads off when it happened
But it is good of you to offer an extra day , I couldn't see Tesco's offering us a free steak if their site went down for a bit

Well, hats off to you guys and girls in admin, this is why we stay with Fab.
We too were tucked up in bed snoring our hearts out, so to get a free day is a bonus.  |
