So we have had to report another member here for failing to turn up for a meet not once but twice they didnt show up and also know this person has let down at least 1 other couple so it wasnt just us moaning.
Now the way we thought it worked would be if that person got reported for failure to meet then admin would take some sort of action against them ? this would include banning them from the site ?
No it seems that if you report a timewaster all that happens is admin put a block between your account and the one that was reported letting that same person go on to waste other peoples time and efforts in trying to find the genuine people out there.
So dont bother to report just put your normal block list in place and save the effort xx |

My understanding is that Admin review all the FACTS, before deciding what action (if any) to take. The only FACTS you have are that you reported them twice (and why on earth did you agree to a second meet with someone you had already reported as a timewaster???)
You also BELIEVE that another couple have reported the same profile, but you don't KNOW this. However, I assume that this other couple must be friends of yours, for you to believe that they had been let down by the same profile.
So unless anyone else has also reported the same profile, Admin could well view this as insufficient evidence to take action. Playing devil's advocate this could look like a personal vendetta for you (and maybe your friends) to try to get someone you don't like ejected from the site.
I'm not saying it is a personal vendetta ... I don't know you or the other couple, or the person you've reported. I would just suggest that there are always two ways to look at any situation.
Although you can't see it at the moment (as Admin don't have the time to reply to all reports), I know of several examples where Admin have considered the evidence to be sufficient to eject people from the site.
Keep your faith in the Report to Admin system. |

I was of the impression the report function was for people being abusive etc and not merely "timewasting".
Outside of the vendetta theory, real life exists where things do happen last minute and have to be dealt with. I myself have had to cancel a meet last minute and have had 2 last minute cancellations by different people.
Coupled with 'last minute nerves' i think the admins would be overrun with requests to ban people.
Best course of action, don't invite them again. |

Wow, you can't tell me you think people are wasting anyones time because you can't mail them?
Maybe the people like to look for themselves or even just forgot to take their filters down. |

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.
Admin
PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.
A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.
By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.****** |
