Wondering why you lose the words from verifications when users leave site. Would it not be better to use the system in place in the forums where the writing remains but username changes to user no longer on site ?

Admin have answered this on another thread:-

QUESTION:

"Well i realise everyone loves this option but I have a gripe:

Fab stores data, if users left the site the data is still stored. what else is stored? All messages? photos? Videos?

When we signed up for the site we were not informed that all data sent /recieved would be stored. We dont see this function as a positive move.."

ANSWER FROM ADMIN

"We keep a count but no personal data is retained. This is why we cannot show the verification text once a user leaves the site.

Over a million messages are sent each day. Even if we wanted to and were allowed to (we don't and we aren't), it wouldn't be practical in terms of storage to retain anything - the numbers are far too big.

Understand what you are saying but surely forums are personal views and this is still saved

The OP wanted to know why he can't keep his verification text after a user leaves the site, and this was the answer from Admin on that specific question (which has been asked before):

""We keep a count but no personal data is retained. This is why we cannot show the verification text once a user leaves the site.... "!"

Are you suggesting that you think forum posts should also be deleted, when a member leaves? This would leave threads very fragmented, as the conversation would start to make less sense as more members leave.

Yup, and the same goes for club reviews too.

In Your Bush

If someone sent me a private message (mail) on here and then left the site, the message text will remain in my inbox until I choose to delete it. Not sure why a veri works differently.

I think the main reason is that a nameless veri, nice as it might have been, won't be viewed the same as one with a profile name attached !

There's always accusations of 'self veri's floating around and much like hidden veri's - are they much use in reality?

I never take anyone else's opinion as gospel - prefer to make my own mind up - but a 'user no longer on site' veri wouldn't interest me at all.

Agreed , possibly because its only you that can see the msg but the forum ones are left for all to see. Its more for own references as people leave site so often you're left with trying to remember when and by whom you were verified at socials for examples

this is what i mean the only part thats is removed from site is actual verification text the text remains everywhere else it dosnt matter to me got multiple veris but for those that only have one or two if theirs leave site they have no veris to show ergo doubt would creep in for other users
