Ok your banned from using the chatroom and forums sending messages and the likes
But why can you still see peoples photos and updates.
surely banned means just this
can a admin shine some light on this please? |

I think that's how it works; you can access the site but cannot message or post on the forums |

i guess it all depends on weather they are paying or not ..... had some massive abuse for some loser on POF reported him ,yet they banned me for biting back and they let him stay ... so no, it doesn't make any sense ................. |

Admin have a range of 'punishments' for members who misbehave, depending on the severity of the misbehaviour.
These punishments range from a few minutes' chat ban (minor offences), through 48 hour Forum bans, to permanent eviction from the whole site (major offences).
Everyone also has the 'block' feature, which is a kind of personal ban feature. If Admin has punished someone less-severely than you would like, use your block button. |

Banned from certain parts of the site means just that. It doesn't stop anyone using the part of the sites they are not banned from 
If they have been disabled then obviously they can't use any of the site, although they can still log in. |

u can access the forums and stuff just by googling it. hence i have stopped search engines looking at my name. but i know mate who not members who access the forums to have a look i always thought you had to have joined to read forums and profiles but not so xxxxx |

because any member of public can view forums and some profiles wud be useless to stop a banned person because even if they could on fab they could google it so pointless which is why its a good idea to private yr profile from other search engines |

if they are banned fromthe site.
I dont just mean sections of it completely banned cant send messages forums or chat have site supporter.
why should they be able to come look on the profile they have still..

Ok.. so what happens when multiple people report the same individual for bad behaviour (abuse in chatrooms) and those multiple people are the ones that get a ban instead? |

No one gets a ban unless they have done something, so I am guessing they did something to warrant a ban.
If they want to query it though this isn't the place, they can do that from the CONTACT button. |

why are there so many admins on here with happy trigger fingers ??? banning folk for chatting and joking with friends like seriously read the conversations and put them into context before shootin the wad at people ... if admins have had a bad day or are not feeling in top form they should refrain from doin admin duties for that day  rant over thanks would like to see if anyone else agrees with this |

Chat mods are first and foremost swingers, who moderate the rooms (for free!) alongside having their own conversations/arrnging meets etc. When the chatroom is busy, there can be 40, 50, 60 conversations all going on at the same time - impossible to read them all and 'put them into context'.
Chat mods do not know who is friends with whom, and what the 'in jokes' are. The onus is on chatters to chat within the rules.
If you believe a chat mod has made an error, use the Contact link at the bottom of the page, and choose "I disagree with something a moderator did". Admin will read all reports, and overturn a ban, if they believe it was wrong.
If you really want chat mods to be able to monitor 40, 50, 60 conversations at the same time, Fab would have to appoint non-swinging mods, and pay them. This would put the price up for everyone.
