hide profiles from local updates

Hello

Is there any way of hiding profile activity of certain people from our local "news feed" (whatever you call it!)

We don't really want to see some of the stuff on there posted by people we're not attracted to and it seems blocking is the only way to stop it. But we feeling blocking based on that alone is fairly harsh.

Anyone else find this?

Blocking is the only way of doing it. If you never intend chatting or meeting them, its not harsh at all. You are just filtering them out
