Hi all,
We posted some new public pics today and one in particular was very popular and ended up on 'Hot Pics'.
However, we've noticed that although the pic has been fabbed 337 times, the number of Fabs displayed on the hot pics page is steadily decreasing! 10 minutes ago it read 188 Fabs, at the last check it was 165!
Can anyone shed any light on this? |

Thanks ! I understand the 12 hours thing if that is the case here, but it dropped 20-odd Fabs in the space of a few minutes.
I understand that Fabs can be removed but is it feasible that that many people changed their minds all at the same time? |

The numbers start dropping after the first 12 hours.
So if your pic was fabbed 20 times in the first hour, that 20 will drop off after the first 12 hours |

When you first add a picture it gets seen alot more as its alot further up the list in the pics galleries as new so will get many fabs.
The longer your picture been on, the further down this list it will become as other newer pics from other members are being uploaded.
As you picture is now further down the list and being seen by less people it's now getting fabbed less.
If your picture was getting fabbed say (for sake of argument) 20 times a minute 12 hours ago but now (12 hour on) it's getting fabbed 10 times a minute as further down the list it will appear you are losing 10 fabs a minute.

We don't like the system much ourselfs so don't have that feature enabled.
We think it would be much better if the galleries was shown randomly.
Seen so many upload a pic, then when they drop of the hot pages they delete it and upload it again thus making more work for the picture mods.

We know that the pic will drop further down the list as time goes by, and the 12-hour thing, but that's not why we got confused - it was watching the Fabs just disappearing by the minute that we couldn't get our heads around 
Or are we just being typically slow off the mark lol |

The "few minutes" between the 20 or so fabs dropping off was probably when it hit the 12 hour point.
Also people can unfab pics after they have previously fabbed them |
