You are charging for extra features does this mean the free features will get less attention?

For example tonight, 020409 the chat rooms are down yet the rest of the site is fine - what about those people who paid for extra cams? Do they get a refund?

Well, the chatroom is hosted by Userplane, not Fabs, so we cant control it when they have server issues. But they do try to get things up and running as soon as....

Tell ya what - even tho the site has nothing to do with us, out of the goodness of my heart I will refund you the amount that is due following tonighs failures, it may amount to 1p or somehting like that, but give me you address and I'll personally send you the refund !!!

No you're right, but I am an "original" member and I will not pay until I can expect a decent level of service

Tbh I think we all experience more than a decent level of service from this site, and as you boast of being an 'original' member, that service so far has been free (and will remain) free, ie it has cost you nowt for the past 5 months of your original membership and will continue to cost nowt should you so wish.

Now try being a member of some of the other pay sites as a single bloke and see how they will take they eyes out of your head then come back for the sockets whilst in return barring you as a single guy from attending most of their functions/socials and giving you very little else for your money.

As it has already been explained, Userplane hoast the chatrooms, not Fabs so if userplane have a problem then how on earth can you hold Fabs responsible for that ?

I did not "boast" I simpy replied to your comment about how I was not a "gold or silver member" Which apparently to you has much to say about how dedicated I am.

And even if I was, how could you know if I hadn't paid anything, given that the memberships are being given away?

You have no idea where I have been a member before, paying or not. So you really aren't qualified to say that.

AND as I said, If fabs are charging users for "4 cams" don't you think that 4 cams dhould be available.....?

I have no idea where you were before, but I do have a very good idea of how single guys are treat on most other pay sites and I defy you to say otherwise - they are treat like lepers and if you have been a member of other sites I am sure you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

If as you say memberships are being given away - which incidently I very much doubt, but if this was the case you are quite correct, I'd not know who has paid and who hasn't, however I do know that you havent paid anything because you don't have a gold or silver logo on your profile ......

Lastly, any membership fee paid to Fabs is for ALL the extra facilities which are available, not just 4 cams, but at the risk of repeating myself, Fabs do not host the chatrooms, so maybe you should address your grievance directly to Userplane ?

We have to agree with you, we dont know where you have been a member before.

We would also like to point out that if you are in anyway unhapppy with the membership you have with this site, there is a facility for you to delete your own profile. This facility is available to all site members, regardless of an extra functionality you may or may not have freely chosen to take up.

I too have been loosing chat tonight. but no bother i will just put it down to the amount of users in the chat rooms. I woiuld like to say that the price of extra features on this site is very small compared to others, and you would not get this level of feed back form other sites. I know as it has happend to me in the past. chill out peeps and just chat tomorrow lol

I was merely asking a question and in my mind making a valid point....Fab charges for a service, people expect one.

It's immaterial whether I pay or not, or whether I am a single male in the context of the question.

Yes i see what people are saying above....but a night with chat going down is just one of them things, all sites at some point have problems with chat and servers every now and then. Its not as if chat goes down to this extent very often....its just one of them things.

If fab are charging for these facilities that you keep mentioning then why are you moaning about it as you obviously haven't paid, the mere fact you yourself can and do use the chat rooms tells you that you don't have to pay to use them, some of us that choose to support the site and have extra features dont even use the chatrooms.

Not everything works in this life all of the time.

Userplane have a problem tonight, as it is used on another site we are on and that is having problems also.

As has been said, the site itself has no control over it.

All they can do is report the fault and wait, the fault has been reported.

I am not sure if you are thinking of upgrading your account and that is why you are asking the question , or you are asking the question for gold or silver members.

As yet I don't see any gold or silver members asking for a refund for a nights chat, just a few people saying, ah well, thats life, chat is down, a good excuse to do something else.

Chat is only one part of the site, and one part of the extras you get for using silver or gold, so a refund would amount to about 1p a night.

Hardly worth bothering about.

to be honest ... i think this members original question was quite valid ..wether he has paid or not...i certainly dont see it as a cause to abuse him/her...maybe he was going to upgrade and maybe now he wont as a result of the animosity shown to him /her

i think its a bit unfair that a member who has not paid is not allowed to comment on the site with out getting shot down.

i would not pay for my internet if only a few sites worked sometimes (or something like that) thats why i dont pay for the site (yet) as the forums and chatdown do a bit a bit dolally sometimes and i be a bit pissed of if i paid for something that has a mind of its own sometimes.

i guess the little bit about being a gold member gets Guaranteed support on site issues means that none supports can go F themselfs???

I'm not so sure that he has been abused, Jim, people, ourselves included, have challenged his views and defended the site !!!!!!!!!

I am sure if there was any form of abuse, the moderators, some of which have commented on this thread, would have acted accordingly

Unless you are able to point us in the direction of the post in which he was abused then we will also challenge your view.

Maybe he would have upgraded, maybe he wouldn't have done - we don't know, but screaming about refunds for what was essentially a minor blip, which was beyond the control of the site, I'd bet my money that he wasn'g going to do so

.........and another......as for supporting the site ...i have been on here a very long time now and spend many hours (usually in the wee small hours) moderating in the chatrooms... i WILL defend this site to the hilt and have done so on many occasions.i will also defend any member (paying or otherwise) if i think they have a valid point or raise an issue which,in my opion,deserves a decent reply.please also note i have no "beef" with anyone you asked for proof i supplied it ....jim
