Is there any reason why the age of forum posts are stamped with no. of days/weeks etc. ?

Is it possible to show the actual date of posting?

Agreed, date and time would be much easier to understand!

I'm guessing there is a reason for the current format, as I've never seen a forum that didn't use date and time before.
