CSS Facelift

The site is good, but I think it could do with a facelift. A sprinkling of jQuery and some AJAX work would go a long way.

Also, a Facebook-style notification system would be very useful, so you can see at a glance if you have anything new to look at.

Towards making the site more responsive and modern. Allowing forum posts, messages, etc. to be sent without a page reload. That sort of thing.
