Privacy on fab

Seems to be that a lot of people are having their photos taken and used on fake profiles.
Fab should update their platform and somehow not allow screenshots to be taken of anyone’s photos. I’m not tech but surely there is a way.
Also - make it mandatory you have to be face verified after 24 hours if not your account is restricted
Just an idea not that admin will see this.

Yes that’s what I’ve got but you will get profiles that have verification but no photo verification. I’ve been here for 10 years and it’s just a suggestion as said.
If every profile had to be photo verified in order to message people I feel the site would become more genuine for other people. |

As I said this is in the right place for admin to see it.
Meanwhile you can make the site work how you want it to by using filters as suggested and by not interacting with profiles that aren't photo verified  |

You can put as much security on a site as you wish but it makes no difference, all you need is another phone and you can take a photo of the picture, you can never stop that. |

Yeah, some people are stealing people’s pictures. They should be all that face verified hiding behind fake profiles still people’s pictures and post it on this and sell it onto Facebook or eBay all the places is selling stuff to people people’s pictures online. |

I be honest not many people stealing guys photos but a lot of couples or females in speaking to have had this experience before so was just putting it out there.
Personally I do think if every profile had to be photo verified would be helpful, I fully understand you can block unverified accounts but just gives the users more confidence.you see profiles on here that have been active for over a year and have no verification just adds to the benefit of the site especially for single females |

Ive seen photo verified and meet verified guys and women using pics taken from elsewhere a quick reverse image search proves it so being verified means nothing nowadays |

Photo verification is just to confirm the gender of a profile. Nothing more.
You don't have to show your face, so I'm not sure how much more 'confidence' it is meant to give bar confirming gender.
It doesn't identify anyone, nor does it guarantee any level of behaviour or that the person is on site for any given reason.
Seems many have the wrong idea of what that little green flag means and signifies, as if it's a magic wand to solve issues.

If there are so-called protections of photos in place, they would provide a false sense of security. It's as simple as someone just taking a pic but there are ways around the other options too, as I think Fab makes clear in their statements to why they don't do.
I think it's best that people know the risks upfront.
Having people photo verified gives little to no protection, in all likelihood.
Comfort blankets are false hopes of protection, almost like snake oil.
Fab has to let its users know that it's on us, to stand the risks and only to take them, if we are comfortable. |

I've been a member here for so many years and have never had my photo verified
Does that make me fake? - of course not because I am verified
As stated before, I would much rather trust a meet in person verification as evidence that someone is real, as opposed to them having a photo verification
I understand what you are trying to do, but if someone wants to be a fake, fantasist, wannabe or time waster, then if they are determined enough, they will manage to get round any processes put in place
I find FAB a useful tool for what I need, and I utilise it to benefit me. There are several filters available and if people used them I think they would have less issues.
But for me, FAB is great and it's free! |
