Again and again we find ourselves chatting to fakes, pic collectors, time wasters and no-show meets on here these days. Incredibly tiring.
How about higher level accounts that cost more in an attempt to reduce the number of timewasters ?. Maybe add more features to these accounts too like user feedback stats and better searching (such as yes/no option searching on all interests like safe sex etc). |

Charging more won't make any difference to time wasters.
There are unlikely to be any additional features. Things that were added years ago are still classed as 'new'.
I think you'll get a lot of responses saying you need to do more 'due diligence' yourself.
Do you think having 1:1 chat facility on this site would help? That's possibly the best thing that I could think of.
Other than that mantra 'go to a club' is the usual fall back catch all. |

Charging more for say 'diamond' WILL reduce timewasters, the question is by how much. Due diligence ?, thats all we do these days and for nothing. Clubs !, last couple we met in a club we got on very well with and they seemed to tick all our boxes. Invited to theirs a week later where we discovered they'd COMPLETELY lied about everything they'd said, even their sexualities, we quickly left of course |

Well. You met a couple had a conversation with them and then in person realised they weren't what you thought they were. But miraculously if you charge people to use this site they will all be honest and upright!! If you cant assess people you've met in person then putting a paywall in between isn't going to make that much difference.
What figure do you think it should be?
Why don't you just interact with site supporters; or do you not think they contribute enough to be bona fide?

I'd still be the same person whether it was necessary to pay or remain free to use as it currently is.
Many people I've met over the last 17 years have used the site for free. They've all definitely been real.
The people you have issues with may have plenty of disposable income and not be bothered by fees.
As with a previous comment, there are already plenty of tools the site gives to help establish whether someone is 'genuine', which in addition to a little due diligence, common sense and a healthy dose of realism, all help us make choices as to who to engage with and who not to. I honestly can't think of a single additional feature myself that would offer any more 'guarantee' that someone is who they claim to be, and in addition there's the risk that a fee charging structure would only increase the expectations some already seem to have that they're in some way entitled to anything from simple conversation to actual sex. 🤷♂️ |

I don't agree with having any more levels of membership than there already are but even if there were I don't agree for a second that it would make the slightest bit of difference in how some people use the site.
I've been here since 2016 and in that time across 4 different profiles I've met 60-70 different people.
Some of them were not genuine people but every one of them was real.
I've never had a no show or had my time wasted or been catfished.
You may not like the term due diligence but I don't like being told I must be one of the lucky ones because luck has nothing to do with how I use fab.
A willingness to pay higher membership fees tells me nothing about a person's character other than they have the disposable income to do so. |

I was swinging before the internet and mobile phones. Vìa a contact magazine (top shelf newsàgent) yoù sent a letter with a sae an{¬zIg=¬}d postal order. The system worked well and I had 100% successful meetings. Ì am still meeting one couple from all those years ago xx |

How high would the fees have to be, to dissuade people from wasting others' time?
Imagine if you could create your own custom entertainment. Live action role playing, theatre, in the comfort of your own home. Any day of the week.
That's what you'd be looking to price out.
Theatre tickets cost how much, just for one performance?
Now think - how many people would be prepared to pay, realistically, hundreds of pounds a month? (I'm not sure hundreds of pounds would be enough to pay for that level of entertainment) |

I was a Reader's Wife in Fiesta in 84. No mobiles, no digital photography, no Internet. It was PO boxes and dirty handwritten letters, dirty Polaroids and lots of married men hanging about in payphones. It was bloody good fun. The digital age has taken away so much of the fun!! |
