Recently, we've noticed a huge number of accounts using images taken from various websites. These can be quickly checked by using a reverse image search tool. Thankfully, admin has been great at acting on the vast majority of these by quickly banning/removing the account.
My question would be though, is it worthwhile making the photo verification process mandatory at registration? This would surely begin to help reduce the numbers of fake profiles on the site if they are unable to photo verify.

"Its really disappointing that's the response that comes from something which would improve safety and help to minimise problem profiles cropping up left right and centre. "
All you need to do is set your filters and not engage with people who are not photo verified, problem solved. |

Everybody knows that the photo verification system on here is a waste of time. It's too easy to use photoshop software to get through the verification process. |

Photo verification doesn't require you to show your face.
Admin have said it won't be made compulsory .
As has been said a work around is to not engage with profiles that haven't been photo verified |

You're doing the right thing in reporting when you see them as it helps others.
Photo verification isn't something all want to do. And as per the instructions photo verification images are private so the volunteer photo mods won't have access to them. A dodgy photo uploaded by someone who's gone through the site photo verification process might still slip past checks, so reporting is 100% the way to go. Keep doing it. 😉 |

Sadly there's no guarantee that a photo verified profile has all genuine pics either. Once the account is verified as genuine, they can post any pic as long as there is visible human anatomy in it. And it would be nearly impossible to check if the hand or boob in a pic belongs to the same person in the verification pic.
We steer clear of anyone who isn't photo and meet verified as this at least is an extra couple of hoops someone has made the effort to jump through. Our block list must be in 4 figures by now just filled with unverified profiles 🤷♂️ |
