Newcastle and Gateshead

I think it was a brilliant idea at first as people could discuss all kinds of elements with regards to discussion and making people unnervous and giving advice, conversations and issues around swinging clubs

now to be honest it has just become a place where clubs just advertise their latest money making venture/ swinging night on the cheap.... which is what I thought the point of the meets forum.....

shame as i think it is a great oppotunity that has been missed.....

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I've just had a look and I reckon its 50% adverts and 50% people asking advice. Also its a good place for the adverts to go. If I recall that's one of the reasons for the forum being started - to stop clubs from clogging up the meets forum.

Couldn't agree more.

Its rarely about advice and has become a promote page.

Sometimes you do get questions by nervous newbies..but one promotion thread is now on its 3rd post.

"but one promotion thread is now on its 3rd post."

They were told by the mods they were allowed to do that to prevent posts being put up in other forums. I think if that was against the rules it would have been sorted by now.

It is a two way street.

People that meet in clubs, do pass details of the site to those that are new to the scene.

Also clubs do run social nights for the site users as well.

Promoting them selves and the site cant be a bad thing surely.

Maybe the site could do sponsored nights, free months unlimited site use for all new members.

If the threads are questions relating to the club or clubs in general they should stay there.

Those promoting or asking whos going on this or that night should be moved to the meet request and parties page.

At the end of the day it's down to the moderators/admin to moderate the threads correctly as per the title and subtitles of the threads.

If they think it should be as it is.. well then thats what we have.

Forum Mod

O o O oo

It is for anything to do with clubs, so asking if someone is going on a certain night etc is fine to be in there.

A club night is also allowed as long as they are not spamming.

"If I recall that's one of the reasons for the forum being started - to stop clubs from clogging up the meets forum. "

Perhaps there should be separate section for club owners/promoters etc to be able to promote clubs - away from actual advice about clubs.

Maybe to help this - club & event promoters are the only ones to be able to start threads in that said forum section, and they must be gold member donators towards fab.

Afterall - fab gets nothing from all the free adverts for the clubs - this extra money can be pumped back into fab to help fund extra development of the site.

That section forum just says swinging clubs, not swinging clubs and advice, so surely anything related to clubs can go in it.

I find it very easy from title of the thread to see if its a thread I'd be interested in reading or not, so not all that fuses if clubs all over country use it to advertise, still plenty posts from peeps asking advice too

i just feel to be honest we have missed a trick here...

same clubs advertising week after week...

it does just feel as if it is spam at times....

me personally... seperate section to advertise your club meets.... and as someone said, it could be revenue to help run the site as well....

Dont think thats entirely a fair comment most club owners Banner link to fabs, in turn its cross promoting "Back scratching" ,

any website owner can look at traffic comming in from links to their sites , if it wasnt paying them to do it in the Long Run they wouldnt simples.

We get hit on from virtually every new swinging site web promoter, some dont even ask if they can list your club on their pages, they do it to increase" Their own Traffic".
