NEW CONTACT METHOD FOR FAB
Jump to: Newest in thread
I think Fab needs to change its initial contact method to only winks..If both people wink at each other only then can they receive messages.
This Would save most certainly women's & couple's inbox hugely
Maybe if enough people agree Fab may alter it so people can spend more time connecting with those they want to rather than spending hours filtering messages
What you all think? |

I think that sounds crap.
Swinging is about the social scene as much as anything else. If I only talked to people I wanted to fuck it wouldn’t be half as fun and my little black book would be very lean in comparison to how it is now. |

From an autistic point of view, sounds terrible. We don't always know how to approach, or prefer someone starting the conversation so we know what form it's going to be.
Great in principle, lacking for those who need a few more social cues. |

As others have said, sounds more swipey dating site than swinging.
Youd jeut get single men winking everyone (err like they do now anyway) and with the forum full of "i keep winking but no one winks back" posts. |

Nope. Simples. Just delete the winks |

Whilst the premise behind it would be good as then you’ll only connect with people you want but you’d just have wade through hundreds of winks then.
At least now people have an opportunity to put a decent message together. If they just had to wink, a lot of guys would just wink anything and everything!

What does a wink really mean to you?

If people could wink, instead of messaging, have you considered how many more wins many people would get
I'm guessing that you'd potentially get 100 times more wins than messages . If you think managing the inbox is hard, imagining sifting through hundreds of winks.
And the onus is then shifted onto the recipient, making them responsible for filtering. They're still have to filter again, when messages come
I'd prefer to put more effort into the sender, if it's going to change.b |

I can imagine that many will wink incessantly.
I think the unintended consequences of this is a transfer of effort onto the recipients, which could reduce the numbers of people interested in getting contact from unknown people |

Wheres the fun in that, waiting to see that yellow go, then the anticipation of getting either blocked ignored deleted or responded to, now thats a buzz...

So we'd just have all the single guys constantly winking everyone and everyone else ignoring the winks.
I mean, the "wink system" is already pretty naff for those of us who opt out the using it so it'd probably just lead to a mass moment of dead accounts as they go to some of the other swing platforms instead |

I don't think it would work.
I get winks from hidden profiles and ones pretty blank of info or photos. They get ignored.
Also if it's o my a wink - I rarely wink back but I would look if there was a message aswell. |

I don't think it would work. And women and couples who use the excuse about too many messages could use their filters to drastically cut down the amount they get,and even stop all incoming messages if they really wanted it. The site already gives people the tools to use,it's their choice to not use them.
Winks are more or less pointless for most and all it would do is increase the amount anyhow that people receive. And then the same excuse would be used when people didn't get a wink or message back. |

Sorry, but pointless. As others have said. Filters allow control of who messages you, use them, Or, take some initiative and message first!
Most people don't look at winks. (some even going so far as to say it's lazy)
There are dating sites where one gender can't message the other and it's in the verge of collapse |

Better to update the messaging system, so that users can further customise who can message and detail what the content of the messages must be, ie if photos, are they mandatory, what must the content be, etc.
You could stipulate what the minimum profile content should be. And also have users select their reasons for messaging.
There's probably a lot that could be done within the message system, that would be better than trying to mandate winks first |

I’m pretty average looking let’s be honest - but if you think I get a lot of messages on here, you should see the swipes on Tinder. Winking or swipes are lazy - a lot of men swipe right on everyone and as someone else’s says then it’s up to the recipient to work through (currently 3.5k) swipes to find someone to chat to. Just gave up on that platform and use this now!
Plus I prefer being able to make a call on someone’s message than just their pics - give a better idea of then as a person. So definitely a hard no from me! |
