"It's possible to photo verify without showing your face. " I never realised that, doesn’t that make it worse? What are you actually verifying in that case, that you can write on a piece of paper? As an example there’s a new unverified profile in my area with just one very clear face pic. The profile reads something like I’m a dirty slut who deserves to be punished. Why should they be allowed to post this if it could be a picture of someone else.

"It's possible to photo verify without showing your face. " Thought the whole idea of photo veri was a face pic wtf I think that’s a bit ridiculous tbh and could cause all sorts of problems

"Not everyone is a catfish, she might be a dirty slut, dirty sluts can post pics of themselves, photo verification means they are the gender they say they are" Absolutely, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But what if I want to get back at my next door neighbour, create a profile like that and spread rumours around that she’s on Fab and cheating on her husband. It’s not even revenge porn, it’s only a face pic but could cause all sorts of trouble for someone. Why let anyone upload a face pic if they’re not verified by their face

"I've never had a facepic to photo verify and never would. There is also a full nude body shot option." Yeah, I’ve just reread the rules. You’re clearly very well verified, and I’d be confident you were who you said you were, but this explains why a number of photo verified user have photos that I’d question were genuinely them. I’d always assumed that if someone who was photo verified sent you a face pic from here (not a direct photo) then you could be confident that someone had checked it against a photo of them. To be honest in the world of AI even this is hardly reliable now

Even for someone like me who is well verified, it doesn't necessarily mean that any facepic I send to people who have never met me is accurate. I have met people at group socials who had posted a facepic in the chatgroup prior to the event and they bore no resemblance to those pics.
