What’s Fabs rules around AI photos ? I have just generated an AI pic of me based on an original pic of me - and cartoonified it. The photo vaguely looks like me - the eyes and lips have not changed, and so pending fabs approval process, it’s the first time I might consider setting that face pic of me, public.
what are members / fabs views on them in general |

If I asked for a face picture of someone I wouldn't be happy with an AI one of something with filters on. |

That kind of photo is not a real representation of whoever it is of, so it's pointless to have one on a profile. It is likely against Fab rules anyway. I personally want to see real and recent photos of potential meets...

Filters on Tinder / Instagram generate more hits, likes, messages etc so is this the reason for the desire?
Guessing you’d never actually meet anyone? |

AI has got to the point in photography where you can’t tell an ai photo against a photo taken which isn’t good especially when it can be used to deceive and trick |

The cartoon bit is against Fab rules I guess but probably no rules on non cartoon AI pics that resemble you.
AI is moving so quick that it has the potential to overrun Fab pic rules and moderation as it stands fairly quickly.
I think Fab is going to have to either tighten things a lot or give up, especially when it comes to face pics and Fab photo verification in the current format which is going to be increasingly easy to fake.
On some other apps (non-swinging) the photo ID part is now in-app and live so no chance to upload fake pics or apply filters. Some also use a quick video in-app moving head side to side. Impossible to fake. If one day Fab moved to something like this then I would make it job of moderators to check any face pics against verified pic/video so blatant AI misrepresentations could be ruled out. Actually the tech is already there to do this automatically or make it very easy for moderators to do this manually. Perhaps in a future iteration of Fab. |
