Some extra info: I looked at the profile of a couple who were in the top 5 of my local updates and the first line of their profile text read, in all caps: 'WE'RE IN DUBLIN NOT LONDON'

It seems like it's clearly a fab issue which people from there face too

There used to be 2 very very prominent forum couples who were based somewhere in England and they would appear in my daily updates despite having nothing on their profile to say they were visiting. That went on for months until I blocked both because they were filling my updates with pics and statuses

I'd do that too, but then it'd make my blocklist non-empty and I don't want to do that lol. I think I'll have to live with the issue since it seems unlikely there's going to be a fix soon (I've had it since the start).

I know that, I was saying it only happens with that city and no place else even though I'm sure many people from the UK have passed through London at some point while on fab. I shouldn't have said city though - I just used it as a shorthand for place.
