Should more be done by the site to deal with scattergun copy and paste messages.
We understand that it can be difficult for single guys on the swinger scene but the number of clearly copy and paste message we get is just ridiculous. There are ways to monitor a users activity and restrict users from doing this. Personally we think this is something the admin and site owners should look into as it would improve and enhance the community.
Interested to here your thoughts and those of admin. |

You can place a filter so that it is automatically caught without the need for human interference. They manage to do it with certain key words that can’t be spoken so why not with repetitive messages. |

We get more pasted messaged off couples. One couple have been sending pasted messages to us regularly for 5 years, it's actually quite amusing. Most of the messages we receive off couples or singles are poor with no substance and don't get a reply. A message with a bit of substance will get a reply if we're compatible. |

"I never copy and paste, but because of the nature of the site, most of my messages will probs read the same, although I do try and include some details from their profile into message."
That’s the best way and shows you at least respect enough to read the profile. |

"Personally we're not bothered by copy and paste. It's the communication that follows that counts.
"
That’s great but there are those of us that find it frustrating especially as it wouldn’t take much to stop it from happening. |

You've suggested a filter. What kind of filter would you suggest? |

It’s possible to detect when an account has for example sent the same message 5 times in a given length of time. It’s a simple algorithm to write and be utilised in a database like the one fab runs on. It would restrict the user for then messaging for x amount of time. Like the filter and restrictions you have for certain words in messages. |

Certain words filter"
That would only work if all c and p messages contained certain words. It would also run the risk of filtering out messages from people who used those words in other messages |

How do you know they are copy and paste messages? What's wrong with copy and paste? |

How do you know that they are repetitive? How do you know that same message is being sent to lots of people and why does it matter to you? Just ignore or delete or block if you are not interested. |

The how is easy, it’s generic and nondescript. It matters because it detracts from the spirit of the sight which is to be respectful and make connections. We believe a filter would increase people’s engaged interaction and not just that of the wanking dead. |

I see this from both sides. I totally understand why blokes copy and paste. We’ve all crafted a personal message, sent it and it’s either not read or deleted.
A c&p sets out a little more on the guy, without wasting his time, to gauge if you’re interested. |

Nah! Makes no sense. Can I have a filter for the bad spellers too? |

And to quote brasseye you are making “nonce-sense” and quite clearly looking for confrontation. |

Admin should make it so that woman and couples have to reply to every message they receive, no matter what it says. That way single men would get replies to all their messages and they wouldn't have to copy and paste any.

Why bother sending a new message each time if it will be ignored. |

Quite. Often when you look at profiles, it asks guys to jump through hoops. Write a personal message. Send a face pic, body pic etc.
By not doing so, it’s implied that you’re wasting their time. No thought given to the guys time that’s wasted on a message that will never be read.

If you are selective in who you send it to, focusing on people for whom you tick boxes and personalise it a little, interesting subject title, comment on just one or two things in their profile then they generally are read. It doesn’t need to be long - couple of interesting sentences is enough. |

Men on this site are ten a penny.
If you remove the ability of the scatter gun approach of copy paste, click send you actually give more guys a chance of being heard and profiles wouldn’t need men to be so hoop jumpy. We reply to everyone who has read our profile enough to understand how to approach us. |

Wow. And there you have it. "
Have what a fact? The number of men on this site grossly outweigh women and couples. Likely in the region of 10 to 1.
Nice cherry picking of what we wrote.

Am I missing something here? Can't see what the issue is.
If we receive a polite, succinct message of substance telling us something about the person or couple and the kind of things they're interested in then don't care if it's be sent to numerous accounts or is a one off.
Would prefer a filter that inhibits the 'how's you' or 'you ok' messages which tell you absolutely nothing, except that they've not read our profile.
Perhaps I've misunderstood the original post? |

And you don’t think ‘Ten a Penny’ is dismissive?
Here’s a thought. If you don’t like how guys approach you, stop men approaching and do the legwork yourself by contacting them. |

Yeah, bring back the good old days when you had to write to the lady or couple. Pop a Polaroid into an envelope and SAE and post it to a contact magazine PO Box. Took dedication and devotion to the cause. You also had to have the bloody patience of saint!!
Bottom line is we’re advertising that we want something from people and inviting them to contact us if they can offer what we might be looking for. If the people don’t contact you in a manner you wish then simply delete the message and move on to the next one. I’ve seen people saying I’m deleting my messages it’s too much hard work! Try licking 35 envelopes love!! |
