It's a silly and unnecessary feature that simply encourages people to message and avoid someone's profile completely.
For example, our profile says quite clearly that we don't want messages from straight men. But they don't even get to see it if they just press that button. |

It would be better removed, in my experience here. Forum threads fill with requests to users to keep discussion to the forum.
Often clicked in error too.
Best to leave those who are determined to chat, to have to visit the user's profile |

They do get to see it, they're just choosing to ignore it. As an example, I clicked to message one of the posters on this thread to test it, and got the following warning:
"STOP. THINK.
*username* is not looking to meet Women
You are much more likely to get a reply from people who are looking for Women"
The most effective way to stop this is to simply block single men from messaging you at all. |

What if you want bi men to contact you, but not straight ones? Or didn't want to meet with people who were 420 friendly? They'd have to read your profile to know that. |

agree i hate the Reply privately button as it encourages people to not post on the forums and post directly to you witch mean less and less women and couples post on the forum because they get pissed of with the private mail from them ... |
