New messages thread deleted rather than opening

Anyone else seeing this ? I'm on android 13 and chrome. I open messages then many times it says thread deleted rather than open the message to read. Fortunately i can undelete to get it back but why has it started happening? Anyone observed this?

Yes and friend list gets wiped too. Something strange is going on.
