option to deleat a sent message

am wondering how many people have sent someone a message and then regretted it. So why isnt they an option to delete message after a few mins of sending. Say before the other person gets it and reads it?

Oh yes please. I accidentally delete them all the time and it's annoying not to be able to reclaim them

I wouldn't really be that concerned about it with the over flow of messages most just get deleted at the other end
