3 strikes and a block rule

Just read on another post here that some men (not all, and guessing women/couples can be included in this post) , some people get nasty and abusive when cancellations occur or unable to meet at the drop of a hat

Why not add substance to the verification to allow relevant feedback on peoples engagement, even if the feedback is simply positive/passive/negative

Profiles with a significant no. of negative feedback likes/ticks/thumbs etc will be easily seen and allow other to navigate around

Clearly rules are needed, engagement scores cannot be editors by own users, profiles only allowed to score any one individual profile once, discrepancies can be discussed with moderators etc

Just an idea but it might help protect newbies but also really highlight the good people on this app

This could be abused, a few members joining in to leave negative feedback.

We report any unnecessary abuse, if we all do that then I'm sure profiles will be closed.

Manchester (she/her)

So, imagine this scenario.

Person A agrees to meet Person B.

Something happens between them before they meet. Person B is a psycho and instead of talking about it or blocking them or whatever, leaves a negative review. Person B also has friends who want to take Person B down.

Person A gets ten negative reviews by the end of the day and is punished just because of some interpersonal conflict.

This is why this system wouldn't work.

Super easy to abuse by anyone with a bee in their bonnet.

Example... genders not implying men are the only ones that would do this.

Mr Frog gets rejected by Miss Mouse, Frog leaves negative thumbs down. Frog gets pissy and creates a sock account under Mr Toad and gets verified by photo and chat and even a sneaky meet verify from 'Mr Frog' then leaves another negative thumbs down on Miss Mouse. Mr Frog gets away with it and proceeds to repeat the process under several sock accounts.

Teesside

I had similar when I first joined. I rejected a guys advances and he proceeded to badmouth me, make claims I was homophobic and violent for the next few months on his main account and about 40 others that were clearly him due to the terrible spelling used. He regularly popped up for about 6 months despite me blocking and reporting all his accounts. In the end I scrapped my account and started a new one. I still see him pop up with new accounts often on the who is near feature and block immediately. I also had a fuckton of messages from people he had did similar too.

So yeah, that system could easily be abused if someone is batshit enough.

O o O oo

Some people are malicious and would abuse that system, plus add to the already busy workload of Admin

The best bet is to use the report option that Admin have in place, they can see how mnay times a person is being reported and verify any reports that way

I've had a good think about how this could be resolved and it's just not possible because nothing can be one sided cause it could be abused and either side could just outright lie... The key is to stick to people with verifications... I know that there are a lot without but there is always the possibility that they might be time wasters
