I hate that you can see new members have joined on my updates also should be able to hide updates that not interested in this site is so old fashioned |

How would you know you're not interested in an update before you see it? 
Our solution to not seeing profile updates from certain users whose updates are often unsavoury/tedious/abusive/nasty etc is to block the profile. Job done |

If they're that easy to spot - they're that easy to block!
Don't allow them to negatively impact your life on site.
