Would it not be possible to add another option in sexuality on a profile.
"Same gender friendly"
There is such a stigma (especially with men) about the word "bi"
I think "same gender friendly" or similar description would apply to someone who is not against being in close proximity to the same sex (skin on skin) during playing and possible some oral sex, touching, caressing.
I see more and more men contacting us saying are bi friendly but not bi.... or they are straight but don't mind close contact (same sex) during sex.
Many think bi is male/male anal sex or female/female cunnilingus and don't want that or to post that on thier profile. They are not Bi Curious.
So just a thought about "same gender friendly"
Cheers,
Lee

It’s important to remember sex acts are not your sexuality. And viewing sexuality like that is very heteronormative |

Whilst it’s it’s a good and constructive idea, I’m not sure it will make much difference. Like most couples on here, we’ve been contacted by literally 100+ single men with a profile stating straight. When we enquire ‘how straight?’, I’d say around a third to half would like to give or receive oral from me but they are very clear that they want to hide this fact from their general profile. I’m not sure it makes much difference how much you soften the badge, they’ll still opt for the straight profile and then search for bisexual or bicurious men or couples. In fact, adding a further softer classification only makes it more difficult for them to find what they are seeking - which is actually a bisexual experience… |

Until the point that the double standard of bi women being desirable and bi men being frowned upon has gone (which is likely to be just after never and shortly before hell freezes over) I really don't think any categorization including the word 'bi' will encourage people to adopt it.
If people are scared of putting bi curious then putting bi-playful, heteexible or even good old 'Fab straight' will be seen as equally frightening.
We've met guys with straight on their profile, yet they have veris from guys that clearly aren't social.
We've discussed boundaries online and face to face and had no issues identifying those that are open to a little bi play.
The most effective tool we've found is just plain old chat and a little trust. Sure there's always the prospect that they're only saying they're bi curious to get a meet and that they'll suddenly not be in the mood at the time, but that's as much a risk on any meet.
Yes it would be a great idea in theory if everyone was open and honest.
Sadly the social stigma will impact which box people choose to tick.

What if the profile thats looking at another profile is bi/ bicurious then that profile can show the bi/bicurous title but if its a str8 profile it just shows str8. So essentially they can remain a closet bi for str8 profiles but shows bi/bicurious when someone like me views their profile. Everyone would be happy.. |
