It's back. You can now enable notifications of new mails to arrive as a phone notification alert if you have an android powered smartphone. See the "get mail notifications on your phone" bar at the bottom of mobile home screen to enable.
Feedback on this feature in this thread please

"Doesn't seem to be working for me. Ive enabled it. Do I need to do anything else?"
•
You need to ensure that you've enabled "Notifications" from your browser app/settings and not just from the Fab website account settings...if that makes any sense. |

"I cant find that setting on my android"
Click on settings then look for application click that then look for browser then you'll have a list where you can give it the permission which you require to give permission for |

"Tried them as well as normal settings but nothing saying applications. This isnt an app so its just not coming up."
Your browser is an application within that you have the opportunity for you to give it permission to use things like your location camera ect |

"Hope it works but as I don't get any messages it may be a while to find out for sure
You need to be off the site for this to work so I'll send you a message if it's ok if you are offline "
It still sends notifications even if your logged on and have read the message. Runs a little slower than real life. |

Which is normal for being slow by few seconds
I didn't mean about logged on/off just if you weren't on the page but was still open you'd receive rather than being actually on the site because you wouldn't need to be notified if you are on the site |

You can actually be replying to the message and you get a notification to say that you have received said message. A little annoying at times, I think I'll be turning it off when I'm replying to messages |

Well the purpose is if going offline to keep you updated so would be sensible to activate when needed but if busy with the chat rooms would be handy rather than having to come out of this to see who from on a plus side you don't have to open the message to read I'm sure someone will complain as you don't need the unread |

Yes definitely has its uses, I don't use the chatroom but can appreciate how it will benefit those that do. And like you said, you don't need to log on to read a message. |

"When can we expect it to roll out for iOS? An apple devices?"
In the meantime you can get a pretty effective workaround with a free email address, and an email app that pushes notifications for new mail.
Bonus - It also works for friends requests and winks |

Notifications are working very well, for the few replies that I recive
What would be even more useful would be a link from a members profile to the last message either of you sent to each other. It's hard enough to track down relevant messages among the mail that I get/send, it must be an absolute nightmare for the popular ladies of the site |

"Hi guys, the notifications are not working for me either. They did a few years back but not since you restored the facility."
Have you clicked on the site link and checked your device browser settings to see if it's active/allowed to receive notifications
Check the notification for apps in your device |
